Language on the forums
Re: Language on the forums
I'm a hot topic. Where's my compensation?
Re: Language on the forums
Does anyone even shop at hot topic anymore?
Re: Language on the forums
Your compensation is that we put up with you ...with a LOT of looking the other way

Re: Language on the forums
This isn't about Rig, though he makes a great example on occasion. This is about community members respecting the WoTMUD public sphere because it:
- is the decent thing to do
- is one of the rules to be able to participate
- reflects on our community poorly if we don't
Re: Language on the forums
Like it or not, i think the reality is that the standard for moderation, and what's accepted, has changed around here. I don't foresee a change in policy happening, nor do I see the forum commentary improving in any noticeable way.
Re: Language on the forums
It is kind of telling that some people had an immediate kneejerk response of minimizing the concerns and throwing out more insults.
Honestly from this reading I think it is the people going "ohh offended snowflake?!" who are the most offended. They don't like the idea that they can't just say whatever the hell at any time to any one and they get salty about it.
The OP didn't read as "offended" to me. This does:
That response, just because someone said "hey can we maybe discuss being more respectful on the forums?"This is 2019 after all. Go ahead and compile your list of trigger words so we know what to censor. Actually i don't think a list would help since everyone is offended by everything now. Making it so the only thing rig can post is "i love and respect you" would still offend someone.
e: I am pretty sure you don't want me posting here like I post on Something Awful, just sayin'. I'm mindful of the fact that people have kids etc. and I don't think that makes me a 2019 snowflake. I also don't want to heap a ton of work on imms whose time is better spent on the game itself versus moderating slapfights on forums and rude language tends to generate those.
Re: Language on the forums
I like this guy, we should by him a hat.
Re: Language on the forums
Any suggestion that we act like adults on the forums is clearly part of the liberal pc conspiracy and we should whine like babies about being asked not to say firetruck every other word. It is the only way forward.
