What does the first amendment say again? Even a non-American like me knows that!Zanadu wrote:1. If you didn't vote in the election or aren't American, then stfu you don't know what you're talking about.

More importantly though, given the hack of French presidential candidate Macron's election team right before the election, similar hacks in former Soviet states and so on, imo Russia is firing up Cold War 2. Maybe looking back we will identify 2016 as the start of the 2nd Cold War. Putin might even be trying to reinstate the Soviet Union as a long term goal. They are obviously trying to influence elections abroad and nudge them towards least-anti-Russian/pro-Russian results, which begs the question how safe voting computers will be in the future, since those things tend to run on less than state-of-the-art software.
The only thing I find curious is that it currently seems like they started with the US. That either means that we missed previous manipulations and/or hacks in smaller, less significant elections that they did trial runs on (what about Brexit, for example?), or that info wasn't released to the public, or people failed to piece it together. Kind of can't fault Trump for it if his team was the first to fall victim to it or if the info was known and he wasn't informed by whomever. At least it's something to be wary of in the future. It's the new tomorrow, in that regard.
