I think it's time we examined pets and made them fun and functional pieces of the game outside of cheap exp partners. currently there are several to choose from, but I think it would be really cool if the pets could perform certain tasks like search, track, or other skill sets.

I think you should be able to exp your pet and level it. At a certain level, it should be able to do things like for example a level 5 dog could bark when someone hides in your room on %

Maybe a dog could dig and on % find food or water.

I'm open to ideas but, I thought this would be fun and something people would really enjoy. It doesn't have to be like I described, but just giving people ownership over a pet that can help them other than exp is kind of a fun idea. Obviously very low level mobs with limited ability that does not contribute directly to pk damage etc.

Cats are the best... they sniff the ground a lot for mob pulse tracking and attack shadoweyes. They can be ordered to assist, kill, rescue, sit, rest, stand.

I wish the bird ones could be ordered to fly so they could follow you over water!

I always have a chicken called Gertrude. We are best buds.

I think maybe you should be able to pick up your pet and hold it for a few tics. Perhaps after 5 tics it squirms out. But it would mean you could carry them across water.

I would also love if when you set their names it capitalised correctly.

With lower player base we need more pets.

And the idea that it shares some of your skills like search track or such, bonus.

I just have a hard time believing the Tar Valon pet shop doesn't sell cats.

Would be neat to have less "store bought" pets, and cooler to have random mobs that you can do something for them and they follow you.

Give some money or food to a street urchin, have them follow you. They have the ability to steal and pick locks.

Give some herbs, or a book, to an ogier mob and he follows you. He can help track someone, or have search for certain doors.

Just some ideas.
