I randomly logged on planning to pop SK/DO with my 20 free minutes, failed every single bash against all 3 of you, more people started showing up, and I had to leave. Sorry no one chased you, but when I left, there were only 3 pkers and a lvl 17 Flubski, so no, not exactly 5-6 ds suddenly logging on to purposefully trap you or refusing to pk you outnumbered.

Sorry was travelling and honestly don't have the desire to spend too much more time on this, but:
I (somewhat sneakily) intentionally used one of the classic examples of victim shaming to try to make a point about the mentality here. I think my sneakiness bit me in the behind as it flew over everyone's heads except for Isabel.
I actually think the comparison of killing someone afk to assaulting someone who walks in a dangerous area is a very useful one. In both cases an aggressor is using their power over the victim for personal gain at the expense of the victim, without the victim's consent to engage in the activity. In both cases people present the "victim shaming" arguments, where people say "they shouldn't have been there in the first place", "they should have dressed less provocatively", or "they shouldn't have gone AFK". I think the logic that should be applied to these situations is very similar.
As Isabel pointed out very strongly, one person has all the control in the world and makes a bad decision (to assault the victim or kill the person afk). They have every freedom in the world to not do this, but choose to do it. On the other hand, the victim in many cases had no control over the situation. Most of the behavior we would like to change lies with the assaulter/afk killer, not with the victim/person who went afk.
Even if it is not technically against the rules or a crime, as others have pointed out, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't strive to change this behavior. Razhak and Meren both seem to agree that afk killing is not desirable. I would suggest we focus on thus changing this behavior instead of weirdly focusing on the other side (the victim blaming/shaming). The best way to change behavior in a social community if the laws/rules can not be established to change the behavior is by peer pressure and shaming. That's why when this happens I think the best course of action is to name and shame. Hopefully people will then do this less often so it no longer becomes an issue.

The problem with appealing to his sense of responsibility though is that it is his sense of responsibility that drives the afk killing in the first place. He doesn't feel responsible for making the game a better place etc. He feels responsible for upholding the "danger" (and ironically, not danger to the character but the player - otherwise he would RP scare the afk person and it would be fun/funny).
Perpetrators do stuff for easy gain but also because they feel the onus is on THEM to enforce that "danger". Like they almost believe that they are doing the victim-person a favour by teaching them just how dangerous it is.
Razhak's intention when killing someone afk is to teach the player not to afk so that they "learn better" and "realise it's their mistake" for pausing the game to attend to normal real life things like bathroom breaks, taking phone calls, alt tabbing to check something, getting up to pet your cat, getting some water, or whatever else.
