disabling 'where' for clanned seanchan
Re: disabling 'where' for clanned seanchan
Not having where would be beyond irritating (not to mention unfair) - but not having it also doesn't make it any more difficult to find xpers killing trees.
It works both ways - I type where probably every 6th command and I can't even recall the last time I've been killed by surprise from a samesider. You don't even need to know if they're a murderer or not. If you type it and you don't recognize the name then be on your guard - it's really that easy.

As someone who had a murderer MC that had where removed, it was in general annoying but did create a more xrace experience for me (using track/locate/diag more). And gave anyone fighting against me a slight edge.
Removing where would be worse then the SS changed to humans change because although it would make a few lame kills perhaps more avoidable it would make a lot of the decent pk too one sided or terrible.

Frey does raise a good point with regards to certain clans having access to instant reports whenever someone enters a smob regardless of where they are in the world. Now if it could work similar to rats/ravens, ie only getting information when you are within a certain amount of zones of the smobs it would probably be better if it is deemed necessary to keep at all. Doesn't make much sense to me that a Seanchan raiding Tear would get reports that a Tower group is hitting a smob in Andor or GF.
Re: disabling 'where' for clanned seanchan
As far as scouts and such that give huge information to characters that can be used while almost entirely afk - this is quite bad for the game. Obviously there are a lot of people who are working with wotmud in the background and waiting for pk but we need those people who are actively playing to have advantages not the idle. I think the scout gap for LS is a great example, about a full horse moves away from the city and within full moves of keep so people can run down and fight. The scout for DS in comparison is about 1/2 moves away from keep and the number of times it gets hit and then the person goes back to keep can be frustrating.

I Think frey makes a good point about the incog thing since they all have ls homelands now
Re: disabling 'where' for clanned seanchan
Oh forgot to remark on the cognito. I think xin is the only ss that is incognito. There was something about it being required up north so the masses just adopted the style. I don’t care at all about being revealed. I take pride in the empire!
All murderers should be revealed so we know who to be afraid of. IF and BT please reveal yourselves.

No-where back in the day was horrible.

Re: disabling 'where' for clanned seanchan
I lived through it and it was very annoying. However the clan character I had that lost where ability also did not get QPS for any random Joe Blow I killed. That is really the Crux of my argument. Taking away where would even the playing field a bit but not being able to turn in any scalp would also facilitate it probably better. As it stands at least the SS can go north get QPS there just like any other person but then they can come South use a very powerful tool and wreak havoc on anyone and still get the same amount of QPS. Tell me how those are the same in the amount of effort. As far as I know any Clan can actually turn in a scalp of any human and get QPS for it however it's only sanctioned in a few. I'm talkin automated Quest points by the way.

Being incognito has never been required up north since I have been a Lancer. SS are also not banned from being up north.Terinor wrote:Oh forgot to remark on the cognito.
