Borderland banned gear change
Re: Borderland banned gear change
I dont understand why trink/cloak swap was ever changed. Too many sids in game? Who gives a dung. So everyone has a sid. Why does that matter. Imms should be like Oprah...rare for you, rare for you rare for everybody!

Maybe the wealthy could pay tax.
Re: Borderland banned gear change
Imagine the issue was people wearing equipment that gave you an extra perk, ie DL coats, trolloc badges, things they are not supposed to wear, but people don't care to police, not the instances where you wear an ahf' cloak because you can't find a red robe. Good change imo. This just means you have to prepare beforehand if you want to have your sids etc. kind of like you have to prepare vials, horses and so on. If you want to maximize your defense you'll have to go find yourself a 150 gold to exchange your two ds clan neckies, if you want to not die hag in case you lose your horse, you'll have to either stash horses up north before or make sure you have a vial or two for running. Sell the rare you have sitting in storage for an obscene amount, or sell one clan trinket for the gold to exchange your other two trinkets.
Re: Borderland banned gear change
Why not flag the trolloc badges like Malf/Justice?
(Unless that's a coding thing)

Wore an inky a couple times as a trolloc, that didn't last long after some Chosen found out and made it pretty clear #BadThings would happen if I kept wearing it.

Sides differ.
Kind regards,

I for one agree that players have become too relaxed/complacent regarding clan trinks and RP.
For example, if I was to demand someone wearing my clan trinks to turn them in to me, banish them, warrant them, whatever.. I would be viewed as a horrible person. There would be much OOC excitement among the players and their friends about such dealings and me enforcing whatever laws my clan is supposed to enforce.
Its also difficult to start policing such things when it has been so relaxed for so long. For example, if you see that really cool PKer person with all the coolness and cool club friends wearing Lancer trinks or DS trinks, you probably don't want to piss them off cause they will OOCly wreck you/devote their life to extracting revenge on you by denying your Gaidin applicant or something, plus they will tell everyone mean things about you.
People also protect their OOC friends and hate on people they dislike.
So from that perspective I would be in support of rolling out the whole jailing thing more widely. Like if you wear Lion Warden/DS/SS trinks in Andor cities, you get jailed.
Lancers in particular though are very bad at enforcing laws only when it suits their OOC motives, including trying to be global police and then acting like its not their job to actually hold people accountable and do things that are actually their job such as investigating warrants/pardons and punishing people that get caught lying to try make warrants stick (speaking from a lot of experience here). Its like you have plenty of time to post your outrage on this thread while I have been waiting weeks for your reply to my multiple mails Isabel. I guess that's probably not your job as council though, I don't think people put their hands up for council to do that kind of crap work. I guess that also makes me rude because if the same happened to you we couldn't expect you to be annoyed by the situation. If this were me though I'd probably be directing my annoyance/frustration at the member of my clan who lied about it.
And people wonder why staff implement things like auto-jailing people.. People are terrible at policing each other and staff do not have the time to police your corrupt/poor policing.
If there were no politics/same side/RP and people never had to leave FD to get gold to exchange clan trinks, we might as well delete everything south of Fal Dara.
75gc is also nothing. Might want to consider taking up smobbing or something else if you can't sustain yourself PKing anyway because you're obviously not very good at it if this is the case.
I think one of the main reasons people don't police it and for that matter, only police certain laws when it suits them, really comes down to players doing just this.Elysia wrote:For one, as a member of the Lancers, it's your job as it's in your laws. For another, with the new badges, it became a balance issue. As a whole, there is too much nudge-nudge-wink-wink and letting things slide going on and this was no different.
