splitting in pk
Re: splitting in pk
I like the splits where things people need go to the people that need them first.
I don't really care how luxury items and things people merely want are split as long as it makes sense and isn't distributed in a biased or selfish (towards oneself or friends) manner.. That includes rares uniques, silver medals, jcuffs and the like.

Re: splitting in pk
I think it works like this, when you see someone trying to lotto off the rare/unique it's everyone in the group's job to say:
No.
Who is practiced in this, let them roll on it first. then we will go.
I think if everyone or a majority of people in a group say this, peer pressure/etc will ensue and then that person holding the loot will probably abide by the group rules.

Re: splitting in pk
She. But yes, that’s my point. If there is pk, where a character is able to use the weapon or armor, giving it to a class that cannot use it makes zero sense. And no amount of “we’ve always done it this way” justifies pretty blatant alt separation inherent in alting gear.hasp wrote:I am assuming he meant winning a roll for something you do not need, just to alt it?
Re: splitting in pk
Most of you saying it doesn't make sense to give mauls to channelers and dbelts to absers are the biggest hypocrites. I've seen you all scream to roll for that sick dbelt so you can trade it.
Key here is to do as you say you do. Don't make yourself look like an idiot saying you split gear fairly when you froth from the mouth about rolling for that sweet, sweet heron that you'll put in rent and never play.

Re: splitting in pk
Ugh too many posts.
FYI Pounds you're correct - on both LS and DS those with good sets or uniques regularly absent themselves from rolls.
I'm particularly partial to it if other people are doing so.

Re: splitting in pk
Also I hate this character separation idiocy - because it WOULD lead potentially to leaving dung in a rent when you could otherwise use it.
If I'm alting gear cross race (not that I've been playing DS for a while now) I usually hid it.
If I'm alting gear on LS I ask a friend to hold it (maybe twice they've died. Still safer than having it searched out by some opportunistic dick).

Re: splitting in pk
I mean the simple solution here is, if you cant wield it or have to alt for it to be useful. Dont ask for it. Let the ones who are pracced or can reset immediately to use it.
IF someone is kind enough to pass it your way then be thankful and remember that down the line.
I dont asking for mauls/heron longers/abs rares on my fcs because im not so greedy that I want to firetruck others over just so I can play my OP class and eat my cake. Let the big abser who can use it take.
Play your basher if you want abs rares.

Re: splitting in pk
Complete straw man, whether intentional or otherwise. You’re comparing apples and oranges. What I and pretty much everyone else is talking about is alting gear from pk. I.e. I roll and win an egown on my abs and alt it to my channie who was uninvolved in the pk.jasmin wrote:Also I hate this character separation idiocy - because it WOULD lead potentially to leaving dung in a rent when you could otherwise use it.
