splitting in pk
Re: splitting in pk
I always liked the upgrade / who can use it approach. Give the guy with kandoris the jcuffs and then he can give the kandoris to the guy with the golden bracelets, etc. Or use his kandoris to gear the guy who ripped and needs reeq. Everyone wins.
Rolling for gear and scalps is for the birds.
Very strongly against people getting gear to trade or equip alts... Even if said alt died in earlier pk, unless no one else in pk needs it.

Re: splitting in pk
I tend to give everything I loot to a leader, so far everything I've seen has been given out on a need to need basis. Few lottos here and there, mostly for rares.
Re: splitting in pk
It will always be the same people doing the same thing with loot from now till muddeath... grow a brain... the ppl who split the loot dont give a crap bout ya lol always has been always will be with just a couple rare gems whi believe in fair/fun for all.
Re: splitting in pk
I'm a pretty big proponent of splitting to those involved in a kill (or who can otherwise be justified as being in the split.)
I don't see a huge issue to it as the people who are in lots of kills are in on lots of splits! So I might miss out on the rare 8 times in a row but I'm probably going to get one eventually.
I've been INCREDIBLY frustrated by the close mouthedness of those who have been splitting on a 'needs' basis - pretty much from things like dying in full sets on multiple characters, and walking in on the characters involved who have upgraded with egowns, silver meds, and rares, and get handed some dodge basics. I was advised in a couple of such cases of multiple other rares that they had already packed away. Those same players when fully eqd have been very happy handing over basic sets etc. But my impression has been that this method of splitting focuses on enriching those in specific groups - rather than all those involved in pk.
I do think if someones set is recovered in full (i.e. someone in pk is holding the loot) it should be returned, although I don't quibble if someone kicks the shits and gets given an upgrade, or if there is a loot tax (btw I stole your vial, since I needed it to get the hell away). Anything except an immediate turnover though I kind of write off. 3 hours of pk later someone dies in my set? Yeah unless its been absolutely nonstop pk I don't really have any call to that. I'm gonna ask if its spare to reeq that alt - but no quibble at splitting it.
Some exceptions - say a notable pker lost 2 uniques, leading pk, in an hour earlier this week. Those who were a bit surprised that they were being given the rare that was taken shut up upon being advised this (myself included).
If someone is clearly set up for an exact weapon I'm more likely to suggest we let them have it, or have additional rolls, depending on how whiny I think the group will be (and how much I want it).
I get annoyed with this style of splitting - mostly because I'm far better at killing dangerous targets on FCs - and I dislike the idea that the pk I am on my FCs for I can't get the weapons (the best items) from because apparently they won't use them as well. (Lets not derail this with my trading please, yes I trade a lot, I also still play a lot of rares. Lost 3 today, traded one. Lost one yesterday).

Re: splitting in pk
Hrmm.
Actually I do very fine person, gender being but a construct of society when we are pking DS. I die multiple times on FCs with yews.
A DSer dies carrying Yews,.. and they...disappear.
In that case since its pretty damned clear the DSer isn't practiced yews I'd probably ask for it back.
Similarly for uniques I typically let the window be a little wider - I love seeing Daes or Scourge switch hands 2-3 times through a week, and really appreciate those who have in the past supported me for getting the uniques I had lost that day or the day before back. Similar feelings about Justice. I haven't really seen this happen with any other uniques.

Re: splitting in pk
A well played fc is arguably more powerful than any other character. It's like rogues in early world of warcraft. "I rolled a channie and now I unlocked the killing potential I knew was always there". If you choose to play that alt there are certain consequences, such as not being the primary recipient of heavy weapons. Seeing an fc walk off with a maul from pk when there are warriors/abs hunters present doesn't seem wrong to you?Draz wrote:I get annoyed with this style of splitting - mostly because I'm far better at killing dangerous targets on FCs - and I dislike the idea that the pk I am on my FCs for I can't get the weapons (the best items) from because apparently they won't use them as well. Re: splitting in pk
Well... not really if the channie weaved the guy for 420 of the 420 hps it took him to die
or even 50....
By the exact same token as the absers can get a chance at the silver meds, egowns and shocklances (which are an amazing channie weapon) when those get rolled for.
Most of the pk I see has... what.. daily 5, 10, 20 absers die? and 2-3 dodgers if that. So are you saying absers shouldn't be included on the dodger splits? what about the combo users?
Almost everyone who still plays this game has multiple alts.

Re: splitting in pk
I think watching an fc walk away with a maul is wrong yes hehe.

Re: splitting in pk
See this is the problem with lack of char separation. If you need 2 silver meds that we got from a kill to finish your full kit, and I'm in abs, I'm not going to challenge that. If there's an abs weapon that drops I would assume to get it. This is how DS usually splits. I don't care if you weaved 420 hps off of a fade. Did you fight him solo? Fine, take it. Was someone buffing for you and/or chasing/keeping others off your back? Please, share the wealth. Present characters always have first pick.jasmin wrote:Well... not really if the channie weaved the guy for 420 of the 420 hps it took him to die

Re: splitting in pk
Gear should never be alted. Complete violation of character separation. Gear should go to people who can use, like scalps should go to non-masters first. There is absolutely something wrong with a fc walking away with a heron greatword or maul, and an abser taking an egown or cuffs.Enok wrote:See this is the problem with lack of char separation.
