Fail!
Re: Fail!
Whoa, I think I posted the same thing what, 15 years ago.
Fade "perks" went from things to give you a little thumbs up for being an awesome pker to such overpowered dumb nonsense they make a less-than-average player who just plugs away at scalping til they eventually get there suddenly a great player (at least... on that alt).

Re: Fail!
Fades are the pinnacle of PK Leaders and Leader bonuses.
- No class in the game out ranks a Fades potential to lead a group. Gaidin can't compel.
Gaidin are the pinnacle of Smobbing bonuses. With no "leader" bonuses. (Zone sense? Might count?)
- Gaidin have the greatest static-opponent bonuses in the game. Multi-bash. Everything else is fluff and not a single one competes with "Fear" or "Compel". We also don't have issuable horse gear, shirts or weapons that can Poison. All bonuses towards a PK setup.
I'm not suggesting anything change btw. Just pointing out that if someone felt targeted by Surtains comment, they shouldn't feel bad. Both are very powerful in their respective settings. From a Pk stand point and in my opinion, Fades are more powerful. From a Smobbing stand point, Gaidin win hands down with or without the Sedai being present or not. Of course, even more so if the Sedai is.
Out of curiosity and with an open mind, I'd like to hear Surtain (or anyone else who shares their feelings)'s thoughts on how a Gaidin played to the best of its abilities out performs or is more powerful than a Fade to the best of its respective abilities.
Important to note, I left out the Sedai half. The dependence on having another player online to play is in itself a Con in my opinion. So for arguments sake, let's take Gaidin vs Fade. (Not Gaidin Duo vs Fade)
This may need its own thread... Long winded response to say that I have an alternate view of Surtains conclusion.

Re: Fail!
- Compel: Gaidin have horse regen, which never fails and costs no dps.
- Horse gear is everywhere for free or bought. Either way, it's no problem to get. And you have a buttload of horses to use.
- Shirt was downed and you can get equivalent.
- gleamers can be accessed by trolls and cures can be used. And as a weapon, it's really not that good.
- Gaidin have increased hps, ob (if i recall correct), regen, and multibash, which is the best offensive bonus available in game aside from weaves.
Sorry you're a crappy gaidin :/

I played both master warder and a fade.
I can out-PK most people based on skills, but if you look at pure character-based PK abilities, any master warder should be able to blow a fade out of the water.
Re: Fail!
Interesting, thank you. Can you define "pure character-based PK abilities" please? And how a Warders are more powerful than a Fades?
How being able to disappear while engaged is less powerful? Or move unseen while riding a horse? Or having constant access to zerk attack versus sometimes. Would these be character-based PK abilities?
Again, this is out of curiosity. I'm curious to see how a Warder can be seen as more "powerful" than a Fade in a PK setting. (As far as Smobbing, they are King hands down)

Re: Fail!
This is false Rig.Rig wrote:Also worth mentioning that Gaidin aren't reliant on their Sedai to be on for their bonuses whatsoever
The very thing that makes Gaidin amazing, their Multi-Bash is directly effected by the Sedai being logged on or not. Slightly less important but also effected is their ability to have zerk attack.
Re: Fail!
Don't do it Rig.. i am already regretting posting even once :P
People will keep throwing these slabs of red meat into the arena, but in the end for alot of them it basically boils down to this: alof of fades are alot better at pk then alot of the gaidin out there (offcourse I know alot of them have both chars.. but I am talking in general). For some people it is hard to seperate skill from character abilities.
