Why are you still statting?

I stat when I need a quick drinking game and no obligations the next morning/early afternoon.

I have a few older chars with what some would consider great stats.

18 13 11 19 18 hunter
19 11 13 17 19 hunter
19 11 16 16 19 warrior

I stat because seeing what people think of a brand new char is really fun. The difference between "Oh you are new?!" and "Oh you are *this person.*" Is immense. Try it some time.

On the flip side, we're all more likely to stay on when we log on if we see people we know and recognize.

True. I just find that for me personally I like recreating myself. It's worked a few times and no one has ever taken offense, and openning up to someone you already knew is a lot of fun. I've also met many new people and new friends that have played for a long time that wouldn't give me a chance on alts. Mainly because of one stupid thing or another I have said in the past.

Also just having a decently statted level 15 is great when you meet a true newbie. I've given away a few of these just to urge someone to learn without crappy stats.

I mostly stat borderlands channies these days. I don't need any more chars, I have way too many already, but if I got something awesome as a blands fc it would be worth keeping. And I like to stat because I occasionally find it therapeutic. It is like knitting. I have done it so much it is an automated process that leaves my brain free to dwell on other things without me sitting there doing actually nothing.

I stat so I can play a variety of character types and alignments, and occasionally just for the fun of giving something away for someone who has become frustrated trying to get a "playable" character. My next FC is eluding me, though... Sigh.

I stat because I still don't have a decent human rogue, then I remember human rogues are terrible and lose interest.

Been statting a bit. It's a lot more fun than I remember. The frequency that you check stat is definitely an improvement. A nice way to be able to make a quick decision on who to alt to as well, but only from one specific side. I find daggers to be really good for getting xp off hits. What your favorite stat set up ? Do you practice between stats or simply keep statting?
