A ) I have no control over being named.
B) Dead is dead no matter how it happens
C) Rationalizing why you killed a level 17 is part of the issues with this game. Or maybe just with you.

Re: Stab Thread
Aren’t known mcs fair game at any level?
Re: Stab Thread
He was not known until he posted the log.
Re: Stab Thread
this isn't a personal thing because i don't recall being killed afk in the past few years, but when people say that 'it's just text why do you care' that's not correct. it's not about text, but about not respecting your time/effort.
if you spend five hours building a sandcastle and someone walking past sees you taking a small break and not watching it, and kicks it and walks off, the idea that 'it's just sand, why do you care' would be missing the point.
technically everything we do in life could fall in that 'it's just -whatever-' category. it's the fact that we put in time/investment that gives it meaning.

Re: Stab Thread
There's exactly 0 reason for any of you to get worked up over this, because he got firetrucking blicked. How is the person who stabbed him supposed to know he was afk? It was an instant kill, with 0 knowledge the person could have been in another window/busy irl/whatever. Suck it up.
Re: Stab Thread
It's an opinion. It happens to be different from what you believe. The fact that you hear it as someone being worked up or complaining/whining and then feel the need to tell them to "suck it up" is not a healthy way to interact.
Try taking an opinion - any opinion - that is different from yours and seeing if there are ways or situations in which it makes logical, ethical or emotional sense. If nothing else, at least it will feel less threatening.
For instance I can see the merits of the afk vs non afk thing on both sides and my opinion is based on that evaluation. Happy to write up a post/discussion points with the reasoning behind both sometime when I'm not on the phone.

Re: Stab Thread
His point is that your discussion has no relevance in this instance. No-one said that about the log, you brought up that opinion so that you could have an argument.
Do you think that a DS rogue should poke every ls player he finds before he is allowed to run a stab? Or sit in the room and wait for them to perform an action?

Re: Stab Thread
I didn't post to start an argument. I posted because this is one of many instances of someone being killed afk, to which we have the usual responses which vary from (depending on the situation) - you were in a door, you were crit anyway, your teammates didn't yell, it was a blick, you were afk in a pk zone, you shouldn't log on if you have to afk, you were 5 rooms away from a safe room, you're level 20+ expect to die, so what if you're a statter, you were in a city, etc.
All of these - which refer to specific instances - gravitate towards "I don't care if you were afk and actually playing" and to "anyway why are you complaining since it's all text".
That is the attitude I was responding to - to show that people spend real time into this game, and that's why they mind.
If everybody DID care about afk or ld then this would just be an instant of "in xyz situation, I couldn't tell / had no way of telling that you were afk - sorry about that".
