We have been rewarding for treaties negotiated and established for some time now.
Great, but do you see what I really mean? There is absolutely no mention of rewards and how to game that aspect of the war system in the post here: http://forums.wotmud.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8011 Without a clear guide line established, like you established with declaring war, there is no motivation or common knowledge of how to gain the same type of rewards that the warring factions can gain. This creates a heavy bias towards only declaring war and not diplomacy. I am greatly interested in hearing more about that side of the equation.

There's no mention of that because awarding for treaties has been happening for months and this war system is a new thing entirely. Even minor adjustments in favor of a person's clan have been rewarded.

*oL and Tear have a treaty, how do we go about claiming these rewards you speak of? 8-)

Or is that just in reference to issuing mobs in friendly cities and so on?

I like the new system. Suddenly your existence is in question when you move around the world.

This coupled with heralds seem to have injected the world with a new vibe.

I have a suggestion- When a city is being attacked - is there a way to rile the cities mobs to be more aggressive? Case in point when the leader narrates that he is under attack we get that the mobs are suddenly +3 more aggressive? Or are they only aggressive at the time you are in their room.
For example say col has tags that show [children] and they attack say andors war office. Let a klaxon ring through the city that suddenly makes all the mobs capable of attacking the current attacking [children] << i know this is not correct. But im not on the mud now to check.

The logic behind this is that in any war, whenever an invading army attacks there is a bell or bugle sound. I'm currently reading book 4 and perrins defence of emonds field they implement a bugle sound calling in people that trollocs are attacking. Thus in essence all the mobs are your aggressors.

(Tv has a klaxon that rings when a thief is on the loose. That coding exists)

No, not possible unless someone gets aggroed on their way in/ out. Also, that bell when a thief is on the loose is just a moboled message.

Why is this so secret? Are there set rewards for every treaty? Are there "special" rewards for different clans or cities? Are there any parameters for these rewards or are they just made up for every treaty? Do two Imm's that manage different cities / clans have to get together and decide what the rewards are? Surely there is more clarity in this area that can be shared. Something that seems fair to all players / clans / cities regardless of their size or clan affiliation.

Who gives a firetruck? Elysia said to talk to your Immortal. Not everything in this game is or has ever meant to be on a level playing field. one clan’s immortal awards more for a treaty than another is no different than one clan’s council writing and issuing quests on a more consistent basis than another. Stop derailing a thread about a war system with this BS about balancing treaty rewards.

@octavia
What are you talking about? A Defender wants to be rewarded for creating treaties, he/she obviously has to speak with their clanimm as its the clanimm who does the rewarding, doesn't really seem like there is anything secretive about it.

Based on previous comments by the Imm's the treaties have been in place for months and they are a part of the war game. Then we hear there are bonuses attached to the treaties for those clanned who do not fight in the war. We know what the bonuses are if you choose to fight, qps, demands meet, etc. We do not know what the bonuses are for not fighting because of a treaty. Are they comparable? Are they the same for every single clan? Does every clan member who is not fighting because of a treaty get the same bonus for not fighting vs going to war? Are there penalties for breaking a treaty?

Nothing nefarious here, just a lot of unanswered questions. Especially about how treaties fit into the entire picture. Treaties should be detailed in public, bonuses for those treaties should also be disclosed.
