My steam library has too many damn games and I dare not add up the total hours played.

FTL, Endless Sky, ARK, World of Tanks, The Witcher series, XCom series, Middle-Earth, Fallout series, Borderlands, Darksiders, Shadowrun (+1 Nettle, though i still love the Sega Genesis version), All FarCrys, DayZ

Also, I am addicted to "adventure" games. The point/click puzzles (pre-Telltale Games)

Always on the lookout for recommendations.

steam name is dcarter56. Anyone is free to add to friends (currently don't have any... irl or otherwise).
Feel like you might like Subnautica. I feel like it's what No Man's Sky would have been if No Man's Sky didn't end up sucking balls. Just started playing it and I'm hooked.

12 hrs in somehow. Haven't played a game this much since FTL. It's also much less terrifying than I thought it would be, given my general feelings about deep, dark oceans.

I'm tempted to wait for it to release to PS4 so I can play with my brother... but if it's as good as you say...well....heck with him.

It's single-player, which is only relevant if I'm not misunderstanding what you mean by playing with your brother.

I honestly think it's the best $25 I've spent on an indie game and probably one of the more impressive and polished (I've yet to find a serious bug and one thing I thought was a bug turned out to be a plot point) indie games out there.

Without spoilers, dung gets spooky when you start diving into some of the deeper waters, but the plot, world-building and mythology is, again, really impressive at the price point.

.
Ah, I was thinking it was like ARK. I'll be getting it in that case then.

Subnautica is, hands down, amazing. Shame that six hours flashes by unnoticed though.

I've been playing this little ditty called "Factorio". It's become a total obsession. I'd imagine it's not for everybody, but it's easy to sink 100 hours into it without a second thought. The concept is simple.. a guy crashed on an alien planet, and has to build his way up to launching a rocket to get back into space.... by automation. Automating EVERYTHING. I love it because it's pure problem solving without a lot of the grinding that games like Terraria and Starbound have. There is so much depth and eternal optimization, that it's amazing. Progression is basically built into the game, as it's entirely open ended.. the map is literally infinite.
