I've died so many times due to looking away from screen and getting charged/stabbed. That doesn't upset me because it isnt intentional.
Its the intentional part that makes it a distasteful move. And yes, I realize the hypocracy of that considering me killing callesa afk, but eh.

Killing someone AFK is NOT against the WOTmud rules...never has been, and I doubt it ever will be.

Not obeying the 5/30 rule, reading forums you shouldn't read, those are huge rule violations, and are certainly not taken lightly. Reading forums you shouldn't read is pretty malicious and can certainly ruin people's playing atmosphere on a deeper level than just being killed AFK.

I just find it so rich that Kryyg can come for people who aren't even breaking any rules, but he has admittedly broken the big no-no's, and some how is the one taking the higher road? Oh come now, this truly does make me laugh.

And I must agree, Jaster, people put far too high expectations on me, and their fellow players. Stop trying to change something that is never, ever going to change.

I’m happy to be called out on all my cheating from many years ago. I personally see it as two different things as one thing didn’t screw anyone over while the other intentionally does. In addition one has stopped and the other continues and appears to be supported. It isn’t against the rules obviously but you can’t do it then expect everyone to still like you or forgive you for it. Similarly your welcome to hold all my multiplaying against me, weird but go for it.

At a time in the muds history when total PK, RP, And overall enjoyment is hard to find in shear quantity it would be wise to at least enjoy those instances in quality. Like I said, you can keep killing AFK and Linkdead but if you would have so much more fun killing someone who is actually there......right?

The only thing I thought comical was you were equating people who cheat at games needle dicks. Also this is off topic but why did you break the 5/30 rules was it not to hop on another character and quickly change the tides of pk? Or you were just above the rules?

You also farm cheated Forsaken for rare loot to give you a tactical advantage in pk by having the upper echlone of gear so you could output more damage. You did it a long time ago but our pasts still haunt us.

I think at this point in the game the personal attacks need to stop. As the last of a dying breed I think that community is more important than anything and we should work on being kinder to others. We should all have better sense than to act worse than we did when we were younger.

I wanted to agree with both you and Alainia on this. As I find you of common sense and justifiable fodder to back it up.
You may not care for being liked when you break the rules, but having respect does help in this game and friends. Even if they're just online chatter types.

I don't really care that I'm not as leet as some of the players. I enjoy PK and learning from it. I get fed up and meh over certain actions. Moreso when it's meh time of the month. I always come back to the mud and get on with it.
I got killed afk once or twice in my time here. One by a as and another I can't remember.

I usually move of in dire circumstances narrate and drop link.

Jaster and Kryyg are both right to some degree. You're not entitled to being left alive when you're AFK, so it's idiotic to go in *expecting* anything to come of being killed AFK. It's also idiotic to have a remort (or any character) and not go somewhere semi-safe to go AFK. In 16+ years, I'm pretty sure I've only died afk a single time -- not because people are awesome, but because I'm capable of holding my piss for the 2 mins it takes me to get from anywhere to anywhere else on this game. On the other hand, if you're killing people AFK, you *know* AFK, you are definitively an asshole and may as well go play a single-player game where nobody hits back. It is what it is. I obviously tend more towards the Kryyg thing because I think in terms of 'net suckage' and the net suckage of killing people AFK (between these inane posts + people being frustrated about dying + personal attacks + people whining about personal attacks) has always been way higher than the net suckage of just letting someone be, whatever the reason.

Also, I wouldn't ride too hard on Kryyg for being de-faded for cheating. Plenty of people who are still around and posting have been relieved of various types of characters for being unable to abide by the responsibilities; wouldn't really go anywhere good to get into that, especially since some of us are beyond fucks to give and may be caught in a sharing mood.

You're right, I have been riding it hard, as much as I hate to quote this, it applies to me "Let he without sin cast the first stone." I am guilty of tom fuckery as well. I just have always looked up to Kryyg and just held him to a different standard. But we're all human.
