Yeah with age brings jadedness, a regressive attitude almost sometimes and lots of parents have to afk for their little ones. Mine is a teenager, so I have more leeway. Although he still demands attention and so do my cats..etc etc Like the other day I had to take a delivery I forgot , about. So I narrated afk and dropped link near shady..I don't usually in those areas, prolonged afk means clan rooms or known safe rooms.

I think everyone is missing the bigger picture here. If it took 90 seconds to pee, wtf wouldn't you pee first before running inside tar Valon asking to be attacked? And kryyg is being a little too self righteous here. He has been bending and manipulating rules for a while now. It doesn't make him a bad person, but claiming to be a saint is inaccurate.

The point of the story is this, just take 90 seconds to pee before raiding or just go rent or run to a safe place. The constant arguement is that we are adults, but if that were true, we should be able to hold our bladders accordingly or simply go to an actually safe room or accept the consequences. Putting your faith in the hands of others in a stupid text game is not very smart. The fact you afk so frequently shows you truly don't care that much about the text, so don't complain when you see the result of it. Saddle back up and say, shouldn't do that again.

I have two things to add to these very true statements.

We should all substantially lower our expectations in our fellow player. Coupled with that we should thank those that do the right thing, rather than expect it to be the norm.

A little positive reinforcement and lowered expectations would do a lot to remove the animosity between players and sides.

Sure I cheated, I never followed the 5/30 minute rule. I read forums that I wasn't supposed to. But I never intentionally screwed a player over for my own benefit. Comparing "cheating" for self-benefit vs this screwing someone over by killing them when they are AFK/Linkdead is silly.

Also! As we age, we have less control of our bladder. Jaster has been here longer than most, he may be developing prostate issues now with me soon behind him.

Maybe it is being self-righteous but in my entire history I have never intentionally killed anyone AFK/LD, certainly if it happened gear was returned. At least I have been consistent for over 15 years. By the way, whoever posted about playing like an asshole and crying when you get called out on it, spot firetrucking on. I can't stop you from killing AFK/LD but don't cry when you dont get clanned or get called out on it.

Also, the last time I died AFKish my gear was returned to me, it was painfully obvious but whatever, that was over 5-6 years ago. Since then, I have tried to practice the above approaches of never going AFK or running to a safe place, or playing only when I can dedicate time to only the game. However, this game is unique in that it is a full-loss game when you die in addition to the standard sometimes dung just happens.

On a more serious note, other than the fact Kryyg and Jaster are both newbs and I am way better than him, killing afk/ld is scummy. It's been seen as scummy, and it'll continue to be that way. It's annoying and shitty. Best thing to do is to continue doing what you do, and preferably, in my opinion, kill them and listen to them complain about how lagged out they were or how they were afk as well.
