At this point I think this has become the issue with the most consensus among players that I have ever seen in like 17 years of being here. I strongly believe there is enough support here (and a lack of opposition) for an immortal supported banning of the weave until a better solution is implemented.

Bash-charge had to be a close second. Only thing people defended that with was bashing to get past chokes.

Good point. Though with bash charge I don't remember people voluntarily not doing it because they thought it was unbalanced. Not commenting on the severity of the unbalance of the two situations, just referring to the level of agreement from the community.

Well, different era, different player base, different number of people. Proportionally, I'd bet there are still the same number of people that are going to ignore this. I'm pretty sure I got HoA'd a few time this week on some char or another (not bashed though).

Ok maybe I exaggerated a bit. Point is there is a decent consensus here. Until the weave can be changed, I think an immortal sponsored ban is appropriate.

Is it that it lands 1/7 times OP, or that the weave timer is too short, or both?

Evidence that it ignores DB or is that just conjecture? I have never used the weave or had it used against me.

As a precedent - I really really don't like the idea of an Immortal-sponsored ban. It's a weave, it's done what it does for ages, in a month someone starts a thread and wants the weave gone. It's not buggy, it's not ruining the game any more than ten other things that affect PK, it's not worth that kind of reaction. Let people practice it and face the wrath of whoever really hates it, like everything else.
