Hurricane
Re: Hurricane
I used this weave a great deal on my first Aes Sedai character many, many years ago. Back then camo worked, and I called the combo camurricane! But I would camouflage myself so I went undetected, and wove hurricane usually to break up large groups that would be blocking.
It worked fairly successfully for me; but I tended to use it more so as an escape route on the defensive, rather than using it as an offensive tactic.

Re: Hurricane
I sort of have to laugh at differentiating between "defensive" and "offensive". The effect is the same, sometimes with corpses and sometimes without. It's a PK ending weave 90% of the time (especially for mounted characters) for all the reasons described. If you want to keep it to end PK, that's fine, but call it what it is. It's effectively fireworks, but more devastating and without the malus of scarcity.
"Can only be utilized on a full dodge character" also doesn't really fly when dodge channie is, arguably, the most effective set up on the game right now. Death or fleeing crit has always been a staple of dodge if you get bashed, whatever your set up.
But, that being said, you're obviously putting your weaves where your mouth is and not practicing something you obviously like because being caned onto water sucks balls. Respek.

Re: Hurricane
To clarify, when I mentioned defensive and offensive I mean in the sense of my intention. Defensively I would use it to break up a blocking group to intend on running in.reil wrote:I sort of have to laugh at differentiating between "defensive" and "offensive". Offensively: using cane to scatter the group and pick them off one at a time, because they have no mount and may be confused as to their location.
Re: Hurricane
To clarify, I was addressing Jestin. That's effectively what the "hero vs group" or "hero + group vs. group" stuff boils down to.
Also, would like to point out here that DS has a bunch of already powerful remorts that can go berserk for attack and more power. Hurricane can sort of mitigate that and make a group led by a DL that much more ridiculous. Same *could* be true for a group of Warders, but I haven't seen it happen yet. This is also an instance of when the line between offensive/defensive use really blurs and makes the whole debate as a merit of the weave pretty pointless.
