Darlana strikes again... no shame...as usual

Move it along, nothing to see here. Show's over.

Still wondering what the firetruck the Melas thing has to do with obviously AFK or LD people. Sounds to me like you planned a hit, word got out about it, and someone jumped you. Which is something that's happened a million times over the course of this game, from fades mysteriously logging on only when people are in cities to countless Justice/Malf and city hits that were mysteriously compromised. Weird that that's what caused you to make a hashtag for something you'd been doing anyways for years instead of, you know, moving forward and being more discriminate about who you invite and how quickly you move after the invite goes out.Jaster wrote:Melas started #HellMud. The time of the afk pretenders and the like are over. Time to make them extinct! Now if you are LD, that's a different story and you are safe from me :)
Because it's not actually against the rules of the game and probably shouldn't be. It's not a quality of the mud, it's a practice of players that play on #BitchMode.phalz wrote: so... also why is she repeatedly allowed to do this with out any kind of a punishment? hellmud or not
Re: Darlana strikes again... no shame...as usual
Has anyone tried talking to Jaster and Darlana? It seems like they are the only people we are really concerned about right now? Or are there more?
I certainly believe that tit for tat here is not going to improve anything. If you kill them afk they will take that as legitimatizing their way of thinking and will definitely continue doing it. We need to come up with another way that actually has a chance of them changing behavior.
Darlana if you're reading this maybe you can chime in as to why you insist on killing afk people. Is it because it was done to you in the past? How can we convince you to stop doing this?

First I kill the usual suspects of afking forerulak wrote:Still wondering what the firetruck the Melas thing has to do with obviously AFK or LD people. Shits and giggles. I don't target LD people. You can ask jakd, or Terinor, or countless others I had people flee off that I suspected ld and not just afking. Or don't, I don't really care of your opinion of it either way. I don't need the eq or even keep the eq. I drop it every time since starting my own #HellMud. I choose to
Play the game this way currently. You choose to
Play your way and feel how you feel. At this point the game consists of what it does and nothing anyone immortal or mortal can do to change the gaming format. The friends I made in the game are the ones I still speak to in and out of the game and visit on occasion. I don't believe I'm in the realm of trying to make any new ones.
Just noticed jestins post. No one specifically has reached out to me about it. Just the whining and blaming me for their misfortune. I would say if we could fix the culture of people afking around waiting to jump in and lopsided pk and screw the other person... there could be a chance. But I don't think it could be achieved without giving them a reason to just rent until they are ready to play.
Re: Darlana strikes again... no shame...as usual
We've all had moments where we got the other, or they needed help and we helped them out in certain scenarios. There are some with happy ending that thanks was given. I don't hold that over anyone's head or use as leverage for something. However, we are talking apples to oranges in some of these cases vs. people afking and staring at the screen waiting to romp a pk session and preserve their tps and risk of dying. And Yes, i do recall the scenario you explained, I believe I came back from an extended break and you lead me into the aes sedai mob door north of SG I didn't know about. It was very clever.Zizek wrote:One time, I baited Jaster into a door with a brave gaidin, stole his heron, and slowly commenced to killing him. When he began bleeding all over, I opened the door, patted him on the head, and let him escape. Then I made him beg and grovel before I finally returned his heron. True story, actually.
Yet he is still an afk killer. What more do you want, Jestin?!

I see, so your issue is with people who are afk not pking, then suddenly jump back in for opportunistic pk. That makes sense and is certainly annoying. As you can probably guess I am also a victim of this behavior just given my playstyle. But if we want to change this behavior, we have to understand it.
I'm not sure if killing people afk is the solution to this. I don't have a great solution right now, would have to think more about it. But it seems to me that these people aren't really afk - otherwise how would they join in the opportunistic pk? Truly afk people (the same ones that die to you afk) couldn't help in pk because they're not there. So I'm not sure if you're targeting the right population of people here?

Yeah that’s how I found out about the Greenhand location. Very clever indeed.

And to make it perfectly clear. I've killed 3, all of just 3 people afk since claiming this is #HellMud. The first person was a friend on Skype who I was messing around with, the second was walker for setting off rats in stronghold then afking 1s 1e of stronghold 4 second later, and the third might have been erulise who was afking and farming a smob over and over. So the notion of this is all I do and I've slain the world is just whisper down the lane nonsense.

Do we seriously need all this hastagging crap still though?Jaster wrote:And to make it perfectly clear. I've killed 3, all of just 3 people afk since claiming this is #HellMud. Also kids, don't drop link or you will not know who to strike down upon with great vengeance and furious anger.
Righteous vengeance is a lot more fun than no righteous vengeance.
Once Ahnvari sleep stabbed me while we were killing preds* and I spent the next couple of weeks setting up traps for them. Killed them at least a couple of times. Really satisfying and lots of fun. Well worth getting lamed for. Seek opportunities.
* Another time Cassidy did the same, and I spent a couple of weeks being angry and managed to set up at least one trap for her. It took me way to long to realise that Cassidy is one of the few FC's that are actually fun to PK against.
