The basic problem with the weave is it fills a niche that's already stuffed. Channies can already land damage on high-defense characters (which is good.)

Good luck with your solution! It's not a prevalent weave, and I don't think that's because it's perceived as lame. It just doesn't net as many kills as high damage weaves.

Disagree, HoA bash is nice. Jestin is trash.

HoA is basically only used for channeler v channeler, because the damage isn't low enough to counter the fact that it lands bashes, and currently with every channeler being <280 hps being HoA bashed at bat might send you straight to the circle. I think most of us have it practiced just in case we stumle upon a DL, it's just too good not to have. So while you might not see too many using it in big group pk if the other side doesn't have channelers, it's defo the best of the short weaves atm.

How do you propose they do this?

Nobody has ever figured out the bash % for HOA? Brown Ajah sucks.

Same way they removed being able to practice backstab as a fade!

If there is any way of Vampa adjusting it or deleting it, then recreating it with different stats.

If the only criteria for removing the ability to practice something was 'it's sometimes kind of a pain to play against', I can think of another five skills that should go before it.

So what I'm hearing is that it's situationally powerful - in channie v channie fights, you'll want to have it - but is otherwise pretty weak. That seems like good variety to keep?

Imagine you haven't PKed much channie v channie with HoA if that is what you take from it. Basically once you hit bat/beat its just whoever is lucky enough to land a bash first wins, and it being random kind of makes it a coin toss instead of actually the one who has the better timing/chasing etc. wins. But yes its not really the biggest issue in regular group PK, though some people do use it and its always funny/annoying to see someone get HoA bashed just after they've been bashed and having to sit for 4 rounds.

Down male channeler pracs then too? They have more than enough to go 1h heron/bash and then some, but FCs don't. Not really serious, but just wanted to point out that seemed a silly, somewhat hypocritical argument since you're basically saying "this allows FCs to bash, which is not cool, only darkside channelers (mostly) should be able to bash!"

I don't really have a strong feeling either way about it. I understand why you're afraid of it, since your typically risky playstyle is running around crit with wvd all the time. This weave is a threat to you and other characters with a lot of advantages most don't have (Can dreadlords still issue/wear fade shirts? never understood the logic of that one...) I see the arguments against and agree with some of them (though a few are flimsy and outright silly), but on the other hand, a glass cannon should be scary if left to pew pew and the weave if used tactically, allows nigh-unkillable characters to be killed if too cocky, which is nice... I don't see a huge issue with that idea. At the least, it lets you get a spike off, at the most, it's little different than sucking a bash in a room full of *PCs* (if there's a room full of PCs around).

There's not much to be done to "rebalance" it. The SP/Dmg ratio sucks and it does nothing else, the bash percentage is low, even in "hurricane" level winds, so... eh. The only thing to do, if something is decided to be done is delete it. I kind of enjoyed sitting there watching some idiot throw six or so HoAs and accomplish nothing the entire fight instead of doing something meaningful, which most of the time is what happens.
