I do hit IOMM every so often. Still loads decently enough for something different/fun. Maybe not worth it for a lot of you fancy pants people, but I enjoy it because it's different! :D

Segioda has an interesting point. Why bother to hit smobs that are further away when closer smobs load better?

Literally just spent more than an hour responding and the forum logged me out and ate it. Blah. We're talking about so many smobs at once it may be hard for the Imms to keep track. Also, I disagree with a few of the comments so far (ie. obscured and Aylia).

I will now in much shorter form try and say what I spent an eternity saying.

(1) One's many long walk is another man's easy jump.
(2) Sometimes we have to "temper" our expectations - perhaps a nice weapon is enough sometimes.
(3) Secret 1% loads are nice, but if I hit 10 times and never see it I probably will give up.
(4) Smobs that stand out to me as nice essentially have "depth" of load which could at one level be interrupted as they load nicer, but what I mean as .. they have a spectrum of items across many spots.

-Aylia gets hit plenty because its part of Murgoz chain. Jokingly, learning how to hit Murgoz will throw you off most other smobs because he's so much better than other things.
-Roland, Paishain, PM - historically adequate. Had depth across body parts, trinkets, weapons. No complaints even when they had a bad load because within 2-3 hits they'll have some nice stuff.
-DSL - currently loads junk way too often. Perhaps has a secret 1% load that I'll never find cause I'm done with it. Also, too much anti-channeler and anti-mob code for no purpose.
-Aren - ..too hard. Too much bother especially with the extra rooms to disable the mobol.
-FBL - trident used to be a nice load (will save weapon balance for another thread). "Temper" our expectations? Throw the rest of the crap on the ground. Used to load gold ring. I don't think it does anymore. For an smob just east of Tar Valon this guy is alive so often because he's just meh.
-Obscured - more than fine because it has a low obsidian pendant + gold chain load and has BT spear. Its hard, but you keep coming back hoping for the jackpot.
-Belroi - the trick would be to remake Meneril an smob so people can just march up and kill this too. No reason for his door-search to be so high. I hit him several times and he loaded the same old junk over and over - dyed. I like dyed gear, but he doesn't appear to have much depth.
-Meneril - make him an smob again. Brings people back to the middle of the map.
-Shadow Knight - should be hit more than once per day. (perhaps this has been fixed and I just didn't know it)
-Kingpin - might be hit more now that medium blades have been ..upped I hope. Otherwise he was a skip for me even though he loaded finely tunic. Didn't appear to have depth. Only saw riveted + finely tunic + medium blade on him so I stopped hitting.
-Lugard's ZK - loads jade dagger so maybe a "temper" expectations. Maybe a jade is enough.
-Smitty. Straight-forward to hit and does load any non-rare long blade so probably a "temper". The problem is that tooled gear is junk and flatwort is really just a tease.
-Illian Brigands - a reliable shield load but otherwise no real depth. Feels like abs load is too low. Have to hit Paishain first. Would look at his abs percents.

The problem with extremity smobs is that if you go out there and the load is junk you very well may not be coming back. If you have something that can be hit in some sort of cluster or linear pattern you'll get more hits in. If I kill Paishain, kill Smitty, and then find Paishain alive on the way back it feels like a win.

aliya loads g chain and yew and the key for murgoz chain it gets hit tons

dsl can load yew/sungwood/bf stave and g ring aswell as a lot of combo (can be farmed by two fcs and with it being so close to tv gets hit a ton

Mostly agree with Gretchen on those 3. Have never taken a good load off Aylia, but she's part of the Murgoz chest so I don't fret. Obscured does load necklaces. I've never had a good DSL load, but eh.

If Shadow Knight was changed then that is a great change. If you are referring to the ability of people with gate to destroy the chest to allow the candle to respawn - that's obviously not the same thing. Will hope for the first.

Still hit ebony regularly enough - just have to pop her and she can load better - plus theres a number of relatively easy smobs around that area - Jonar, Capt Morgan, Brute, Ebony, - Jonar being the hardest, but ony because you need to know how to time bashes.

All in what is a very safe smobbing area as you are unlikely to get anyone but a rare random sushi or two to interrupt.

I think its just the smob leaders don't do those as much anymore, because they're out of practice.

Funnily enough - haven't hit DF Ogier and KK for a long time, but they have decent loads... and cash so its a matter of getting the willing leader - I'm so out of practice I couldn't lead and therefore, I just go where people are used to.

When I smob, it's usually to shoot the dung, and we'll just hit everything. Smobbing doesn't have to be only about the eq, and I highly disagree that we should go back to needing 6 people to hit a smob that loads 1 piece of gear.

Basic eq should be easy to get, so people can get back to doing whatever else they enjoy in the game. Trinks could be a different story.
