ZMud Lag

Post by Kunitz » Thu Aug 17, 2017 5:54 pm

I am having some really bad issues with zmud map causing lag on the game. I'll enter e e e n n e e and it takes 10 seconds for the game to catch up. Follow fast is on. I only use the map in zones I don't know very well, and it is terrible. It's like playing with 300 ping. Anyone have any idea what would be causing this?

How big of a buffer do you keep? Does it only get laggy after playing for a long period?

Max buffer in zMUD is 65000 lines, I've never seen that do any hits to my performance. Maybe if you have less than 1gb of ram...

Does this lag only happen when the map is up? Any other zMUD windows open? Have you tried turning on "show triggers" to see what is firing when you move?

Anything else you can think to add to maybe help narrow it down?

It happens way more when I am following someone. Or when I double click on a room and the map enters the command... How do you turn on 'show triggers'?

Preferences ---> General Parsing ---> click box Show Triggers

Caution: This is way spammy and certain stuff isn't going to trigger completely correctly... you will see, just takes a bit to see what it is doing when using this as a diagnostic tool. Do a little testing to see what is firing then turn it back off.
