Also also if you want a movie, check out Your Name and Koe no Katachi. Sooooo good. I cried during both. Also The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

Also also my husband reminded me of some more awesome animes that I can't believe I forgot.

On top of what Alima listed:

Parasyte the maxim,
Mob psycho 100,
ONE PUNCH MAN,
Madoka Magica,
Noragami,
Blood blockade battlefront,
Death Note.

These are all 1-2 season anime that I feel are worth watching. If you don't like subtitles, most anime get a English dubbed version eventually.
