I don't mind people sitting afk and waiting on pk so much as people who sit and mostly alt-tab and are semi afk watching pk waiting for the safest/"right" time to join, then pk for 5-10 and rinse/repeat. Weir comes to mind, since he got swarmed fdrd a while ago for a unique and got upset on forums and one line from one of the posts was "Use some moderation" and we all laughed and it became a phrase for a bit, but it's right in some senses. I afk or alt-tab and watch pk across alts all the time, usually waiting for my side to be losing so I can go pk without ruining it. Everyone will gauge things differently though and trying to make everyone be a "fun pker" who takes risks and encourages fun pk just won't do any good. Dooring them when they think theyre vulturing someone/entering safe pk is pretty satisfying, though
I generally always go try and make pk across alts if I log on and don't see anything. I understand its frustrating sitting 1w gk while 4 trolls hide inside, Isabel, or having some remort and a couple trolls chase you blight and just sit at a patty...and Ive def bitched my fair share over it, but the best answer really is to just accept that people play for different reasons and some people just will always play like that. Learn to recognize that Spyder isn't going to pk unless its 10:1 and next time, dont bother trying for so long - give them the option to pk, sit around for a bit, then go rent or do something else. Players can and should do a better job of policing their own, also, and condemning the people who make a habit of vulturing dusty and then just sitting back in fd while everyone else chases. Similarly, players should be rewarded and encouraged for actively starting pk - all pk-based clans really should have this as a hard requisite and turn away anyone who just sits in a city waiting for everyone else to do the work. Its sad when you think about the number of people you regularly see actually trying to start pk vs the number of people you regularly see involved in pk; there really are only a handful of the former.
And there is a large amount of stuff to do in the game for solo people, small numbers, and groups. Not all of it is as handheld as sitting in clanrooms and saying issue quest - go out and explore, do mini-chains, hit soloable smobs, do any number of the standalone quests in the game, run a circuit of dynamic events, do gold runs, do vial runs, craft stuff...the options for solo or low numbers are too many to list. I'd wager most of the people asking for more probably haven't done most of what already exists, but maybe I'm way off the mark there. In the end, this is a multiplayer game so the rewards for things that take 6 people to do them likely always should be more than stuff that takes 1 person who just sits around farming it :p
