OLD: Pk class/leading class

Post by Jaster » Tue Jun 27, 2017 12:41 pm

A friend had stumbled upon this. This is a class I did many years ago on Pk/leading/following. Now as the mud has evolved, some of the amount of people and groups have changed slightly. But this is a good starting reference for people in pk. There is some good humor inside too. You may find it. But enjoy. Disclaimer: Reading this log will not magically make you better or worse. I do not take responsibility for the outcomes of this log.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'There are different ranks of people you will fight'

Jaster hisses 'You will have Newbs, Low profile, Med Profile, High Profile, and Elite'

Jaster hisses 'I would hope everyone knows whats a Newb is'

Jaster looks to the group.

Rark points at Noikkor.

Mastacalus nods in agreement.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Isha snickers softly.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Shamokin says 'nash!'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Isha licks Noikkor.

Jaster hisses 'Ok, newbs are just that, new to the game and clueless'

Yappy points at himself, suggesting that the center of matters is he.

Jaster hisses 'Low profiles are people who have established a character in regards to levels and are figuring out pk. They usually follow others. There is nothing wrong with it, they are learning'

Jaster hisses 'Medium profiles are people who have either clanned themselves in, or can hold their own in group fights'

Jaster hisses 'The mud consists of about 85 percent Medium profiles'

Isha points at herself, suggesting that the center of matters is she.

Jaster hisses 'High profiles are people who have mastered pk in the sense of they can not only chase decent, they can also run, and lead decent'

Jaster hisses 'An excample of a High profile player would be a Razhak, Markus'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > point noikkor
You point at him.

Jaster hisses 'Yes a Noikkor'

Jaster nods at Noikkor.

Noikkor struts proudly.

Jaster hisses 'An Elite player is someone who is very hard to kill, they know the game very well and are very dangerous'

Isha says 'Tzao!'

Shamokin says 'oh god'

Noikkor falls down laughing.

Isha nods to herself, she must need reassurance.

Bubba looks at Isha and rolls his eyes.
Kaizer shakes his head at Isha.

Noikkor comforts Isha.

Isha snickers softly.

Isha says 'He is :/'

Jaster hisses 'They chase like mad men, they can run through almost any zone, and if you kill them you should have your adreneline pumping.'

Rummy pats Isha on her head.

Jaster hisses 'It is important you know all these groups'

Jaster hisses 'An example of an Elite player would be like Dagre, Madin, and yes myself'

Isha says 'Tekela'

Kaizer shakes his head at Isha.

Isha slaps Kaizer.

Isha says 'Yes Tekela'

Noikkor says 'keep your opinions to yourself!'

Jaster hisses 'OK, this isnt open for discussion'

Yappy says 'Yeah silence scum!'

Isha snickers softly.

The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz glares around him.

Jaster hisses 'Next opinion i get without me asking gets a Fragment from me and 5 Fireballs from my posse.'

Jaster nods at the Dreadlord Jaeiryoz.

Jaster hisses 'OK, back to what i was saying'

Jaster hisses 'It is important you know these basic groups'

Jaster hisses 'Because these are the people who you will be leading against and with'

Jaster hisses 'Now that we established who you will fight. Time to establish how you will lead'

Jaster hisses 'Everyone is cautious in who they follow'

Jaster hisses 'There are a few reasons why'

Jaster hisses 'One of which is because people think that they are looked at as a better player if they run around Solo and narrate an occasional rip.'

Jaster hisses 'Second is, no one wants to die and lose their eq'

Jaster hisses 'Third is, they just do not think you are a good leader and they wont win'

Jaster hisses 'The first one is simple, these players are really only in it for themselves'

Jaster hisses 'They do not care if the side wins'

Jaster hisses 'They care if they get self gratification of getting the kill hit'

Saving Magor.

Jaster hisses 'Thats about it'

Jaster hisses 'In that, they feel they are awesome'

Fong has returned.
Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Jaster hisses 'Second one, you need to assure your group'

Jaster hisses 'These people who dont wanna die and lose eq. They just need to see you're going to help them eq if they die'

Jaster hisses 'If you ever played LS vs DS, DS you will notice the dead and undereqed get eqed faster and quicker and easier'

Jaster hisses 'Its a mind set on this side to help the overall side'

Jaster hisses 'On Lside, you will see more selfish taking, more Lottos, and overall the person who died gets shafted'

Jaster hisses 'As a leader, you need to define yourself as one who will help the person if you lead them to their doom'

Jaster hisses 'This in terms will at least get them to give you more chances to lead them'

Jaster hisses 'The third group now, you just need to prove that your going to win'

Jaster hisses 'You will not win them all, but you need to put the effort and try'

Jaster hisses 'The most common failure of a leader is boredem'

Jaster hisses 'Thats right... Boredem'

Jaster hisses 'Most leaders play it too cautious because of Group 2'

Jaster hisses 'They do not wants to get people killed, lose their eq and not follow them'

Jaster hisses 'They dont wanna be bothered helping others re-eq'

Jaster hisses 'That is a failure of becoming a great pk leader'

Jaster hisses 'You need to take chances, You need to give your group that adreneline rush'

Jaster hisses 'Without that, you're stagnant and a boring Leader with little to nothing to show for it.'

Jaster hisses 'Your best pk sessions will end in stomping a side and having the group feel proud with all the phat loot, scalps, and dead bodies on the floor'

Jaster hisses 'Any questions thus far?'

Tripe shakes his head.

Mastacalus says 'yeah how do you know how far to push it'

Jaster hisses 'Good question'

Jaster hisses 'I am going to go into that in the next segment now that you have acquired your group'

The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz says 'Chosen, are you also going to talk about what it takes to be a good follower?'

Shamokin says 'jaster talk briefly about ls too?'

Shamokin says 'ls is full of 2 and 1 :P'

Jaster hisses 'On this next segment'

Jaster hisses 'I am going to split the sides'

Faelis says 'i got a question if it's not too late'

Jaster hisses 'and Go into what makes a good follower'

Jaster hisses 'Starting with being a good follower, there are 3 most important things to do when following'

Jaster hisses 'DO NOT solo chase'

Jaster hisses 'you may think you are doing a good deed by trying to anticipate the others flee'

Jaster hisses 'But you are splitting the group'

Fong has returned.
Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Jaster hisses 'When you split the group, you set them up to fail'

Jaster hisses 'Stay with your leader unless told otherwise'

Jaster hisses 'A good leader will tell you to block, or go somewhere, or ungroup you at a choke'

Jaster hisses 'If you solo chase, you will make a good leader backtrack to get you again and slow his chasing down'

Jaster hisses 'Second thing is to spam'

Isha is an elite follower.

Isha nods to herself, she must need reassurance.

Jaster hisses 'Spam consistently and know the room your in. It will be faster for you to be able to open doors, close doors, and be aware of where you are on the map'

Jaster hisses 'Thirdly is the most simple'

Jaster hisses 'LISTEN'

Jaster hisses 'You are to listen to the leader and no one else. The only time you do not is when the leader dies and the next chain of command says what to do'

Jaster hisses 'If a Leader tells you something, do not make him repeat himself'

Jaster hisses 'Do it'

Jaster hisses 'Those are the 3 most important rules of a follower'

Jaster hisses 'There are more less important but also important'

Jaster hisses 'IE: Hungry,Thirsty,Light,Hagg,Horse low mvs'

Jaster hisses 'Those you just keep the leader mindful of'

Isha says 'Don't leave your block :/'

Jaster hisses 'That goes into the listen part isha'

Jaster hisses 'The leader will tell you what to do'

Jaster hisses 'Now as a follower, you choose who to follow'

Jaster hisses 'I am not saying follow anyone, but it is always a good thing to give people a chance'

Jaster hisses 'I follow people on alts, and i give them chances to lead'

Jaster hisses 'It gives people more confidence if Higher players will follow them, in turn the lower profiles will follow'

Jaster hisses 'Just be careful of how you criticize'

Jaster hisses 'You want the kid to get better, not never want to lead again or quit:P'

Jaster hisses 'OK, so now that we have our group what do we do'

Jaster hisses 'WE will start on LS'

Jaster hisses 'Horses are a big deal'

Jaster hisses 'If you have a group of random horses, leading becomes more a hassle than anything'

Jaster hisses 'Try and maintain your group on a good set of horses'

Jaster hisses 'It makes it easier to watch over'

Fong has returned.
Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Fong stops resting, and clambers on his feet.

Fong leaves east.
Jaster hisses 'You have your group, your pk has started now what'

Jaster hisses 'Well, recall the list of player types we went over'

Jaster hisses 'It is your job as a leader to correlate who you are fighting'

Jaster hisses 'You have to quickly assess who you are fighting, their strengths, weakness, and traits'

Jaster hisses 'Horse stabbers, Targets, all that has to be your decisions'

Jaster hisses 'If you have a group with channies, Do not let them target who they want'

Jaster hisses 'You have to tell them who to target'

Jaster hisses 'This is how you will win fights'

Jaster hisses 'You will read countless logs of channies weaving on the wrong people, using the WRONG weaves, and overall weaving on mobs'

Jaster hisses 'This will cost you the fight'

Jaster hisses 'As a leader you check the weather of the zone'

Jaster hisses 'You tell them what weaves they need to use'

Jaster hisses 'You tell them who to target'

Jaster hisses 'You call in, you call out'

Jaster hisses 'If you need to flee but are returning, you need to say that'

Jaster hisses 'You flee without saying, and the group thinks they are out'

Nooro says 'shouldnt the group stay if you dont call out?'

Jaster hisses 'They should'

Noikkor says 'people panic foo'

Isha says 'they won't :P'
Jaster hisses 'But they wont'

Jaster hisses 'Its a Panic'

Nooro says 'in my case, as a channie leader i'll have to flee in and out all the time vs channie groups'

Jaster hisses 'If its a group of Higher profile players they may stay because they know'

Shamokin says 'now hes going to say channies shouldnt lead!'

Jaster hisses 'But Again, you have to use the list of Profiles i gave you in the beginning'

Jaster hisses 'And yes, Channies should not lead'

Jaster hisses 'Not because they cant, but because you will screw everything up'

Yappy comforts Nooro.

Isha says 'What about rogues?'

Isha says 'Can they make good leaders?'

Jaster hisses 'You have low hps, you will flee and cause a little panic. You can only anticipate the chase. And you have the worst offensive combo to try and lead and roll timers'

Nooro says 'hush, let him tell us why we screw it all up!'

Jaster hisses 'Can channies lead, yes'

Jaster hisses 'Will they be great pk leaders no'

Jaster hisses 'Now people will say, well eleanor did it all the time'

Jaster hisses 'Newsflash, i was here for that mud too. People were horrible and her tickle stick did more damage because abs were screwed up'

Jaster hisses 'Now back to the group'

Jaster hisses 'How far can you push your group'

Jaster hisses 'Well that depends how far you are willing to go'

Jaster hisses 'It depends who you are fighting in the sense of profiles'

Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Jaster hisses 'It doesnt hurt to push the group to the end'

Jaster hisses 'But it also doesnt hurt to ask them'
The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz says 'Im going to kill you Fong, if you say that one more time.'

Jaster hisses 'There are times when i ask if people want to hit the door'

Jaster hisses 'Because they need to know'

Jaster hisses 'You hit a door you are going all or nothing'

Jaster hisses 'Do not try and depend on porting away, or the lucky door flee'

Jaster hisses 'Its all or Broke'

Jaster hisses 'So letting them know is a good thing'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > say Same with chasing into cities master?
You say 'Same with chasing into cities master?'

Jaster hisses 'But if you fail'

Jaster hisses 'Remember back to segment to about helping people eq'

Jaster hisses 'This will get them to wanna try again with you'

Jaster hisses 'Chasing into cities with a group is a NO NO'

Jaster hisses 'If you want to go chase into the city leave the group somewhere'

Jaster hisses 'You will lose your whole group to the city mobol and mobs'

Jaster hisses 'The only cities in which to chase with a group is open cities'

Jaster hisses 'Like WB'

Jaster hisses 'Lugard'

Jaster hisses 'Remen'

Jaster hisses 'LS'

Jaster hisses 'EF'

Jaster hisses 'Thats it'

You tell Noikkor 'ahaha had to ask.. Shzrei leads me into FD like its his job <img src=" title="Very Happy">'

Jaster hisses 'AS for chasing'

Jaster hisses 'Your group is with you'

Jaster hisses 'You are starting to win and the other side is fleeing'

Jaster hisses 'You need to know who to chase'

Jaster hisses 'Most people just run to the chokes'

Jaster hisses 'and Push north or south'

Jaster hisses 'It helps if you target specific players'

Jaster hisses 'This will reduce the other sides regroup numbers and will give you an edge'

Jaster hisses 'One thing you should never do is chase the Elite player with your group'

Jaster hisses 'There is a time to chase him'

Jaster hisses 'Which i will get into'

Jaster hisses 'You never want to chase the Elite player, because in the mean time, he is orchestrating the regroup on his side'

Jaster hisses 'You may think you are gonna get him, hes running out of space, and before you know it. You will be dead with your group'

Jaster hisses 'You want to chase specific low targets, or the Newb,Low,Med and possible High players'

Jaster hisses 'These targets will be the easiest to kill from the groups'

Jaster hisses 'They will make more mistakes than the elite player'

Jaster hisses 'And they have no part of orchestrating the group. They may try to by screaming for help, but the elite player is too busy saying you firetruck up hold on im getting my group'

Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Jaster hisses 'Many of you will probably now understand why when your solo running from the group, the leader is not really saying dung to you'

Jaster hisses 'If he is a elite leader, he usually tells you to hold on or tells you where to run'

Jaster hisses 'High profile players make the mistake of trying to save the said player with half groups because he does not want the player to die'

Jaster hisses 'In turn gets more people killed'

Jaster hisses 'How do i know when to chase the elite player!?'

Jaster hisses 'Well this is important'

Jaster hisses 'Killing the Elite player of a side will deflate them for a period which can lead you to more kills in the disorganization of the side for that brief moment.'

Jaster hisses 'The side gets deflated when they lose a elite player'

Jaster hisses 'So it is important if you kill them to make your move'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > tell noikkor wonder how long Jaster worked on this... this is well done
You tell Noikkor 'wonder how long Jaster worked on this... this is well done'

Jaster hisses 'The only times in which to chase a great player is if you have him in a really tight zone and way outnumbered'

Jaster hisses 'Or he is Batt/Beat'

Jaster hisses 'When you hear Batt/Beat you probably think, well no dung thats a no brainer'

Jaster hisses 'Well, it is hard to get most of these players in this position'

Jaster hisses 'And to be honest, this is the time in which the most Elite become the most vulnerable'

Nrad narrates 'Neveyan's running around df'

Nrad narrates 'But my raid's starting on wow... hmmm'

Noikkor narrates 'no one cares about wow homo'

Jaster hisses 'Elite players rarely are in a position of fear or pressure where its life or death. If you wanna see an Elite player make mistakes, read any logs of them going beat or lower. The mispams pile up, along which little mistakes.'

Jaster hisses 'This is the opportunity to pounce on'

Jaster hisses 'An Elite player wont admit it, but we do panic when we get extremely low'

Jaster hisses 'For the most part its because we have come to the realization that we do not die'

Jaster hisses 'And the fear of dying is not about losing the eq, its about a shame we feel that we died'

Jaster hisses 'Certain Elite players play cautious, some player aggressive, some play it just right'

Jaster hisses 'But almost all of them will falter if correctly put under the pression.'

Jaster hisses 'pressure'

Jaster hisses 'This goes the same for darkside'

Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Jaster hisses 'The only difference on darkside is you can not hop around on horses'

Jaster hisses 'Anyone can lead, it does not have to be a Master, Fade'

Jaster hisses 'But when a Master or fade demands you to follow'

Jaster hisses 'You follow'

Jaster hisses 'That is how the ranks go'

Jaster hisses '25% of why darkside wins is because the ranks built for the race apply it for leadership'

Jaster hisses 'Where on lside, there is a lot more going into who is leading'

Jaster hisses 'ON darkside i would recommend having 2 vials at all times. 1 for chasing and 1 for escaping'

Jaster hisses 'It is best to have quaffed the vial for something, than to have never quaffed the vial at all'

Jaster hisses 'Do not rely on the fade to compel you, the dl to refresh you, or the time tics to get you to where it needs to be'

Jaster hisses 'If it is the difference in chasing for the kill, quaff the vial'

Jaster hisses 'Now, that is grouping, targeting and now leaves to how do i chase'

Jaster hisses 'If you are a Hunter, well, its simple'

Jaster hisses 'The tracks are there'

Jaster hisses 'Follow them'

Jaster hisses 'You have your group spamming for you, so you will not have to spam k target as much'

Jaster hisses 'You are free to chase onward'

Jaster hisses 'Move yourself 6 rooms at a time'

Jaster hisses 'Unless you know the target has a good headstart'

Jaster hisses 'If you do overchase, make sure you go back to the group, you need to keep yourself together with the group'

Jaster hisses 'The more you split your group and leave them behind, the more chances you get smashed on a regroup'

Jaster hisses 'I will chase in 6 room intervals and in long winded chases i will push it to 10 possibly 12 rooms a time'

Jaster hisses 'You need to know your zones, your dismount rooms, chokes, doors, and aggros'

Jaster hisses 'Most people use maps'

Jaster hisses 'Maps will not teach you what you have in your mind'

Nooro says 'do you always head straight for the chokes? or how do you decide where to go with thise 6 rooms?'

Jaster hisses 'As a hunter the tracks will tell you'

Jaster hisses 'You do not always have to run straight to the chokes'

Jaster hisses 'Most people will avoid the chokes and try to set dlines up'

Jaster hisses 'You have to know which humans you are fighting'

Jaster hisses 'Which will bring you back to the profile of players'

Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

Jaster hisses 'An important way to make chasing easier is to get the human dismounted'

Jaster hisses 'I am not saying stabbing the horse'

The dreadguard leaves east.
The dreadguard leaves east.
The dreadguard leaves east.

Jaster hisses 'Fong is dead:P'

Jaster falls down laughing.

The dreadguard has arrived from the east.
The dreadguard has arrived from the east.
The dreadguard has arrived from the east.

Faelis says 'idle trigger of doom'

Jaster winks at the Dreadlord Jaeiryoz.

Jaster hisses 'I am not saying stabbing the horse'

Jaster hisses 'I am saying chase him until dismounted or attack the horse for max engage'

Jaster hisses 'Once dismounted and bloody the chase gets even easier'

The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz says 'he is silenced.'

Jaster hisses 'Any questions thus far?'

Shamokin says 'autotrack shows so many tracks'

Kaizer says 'You haven't mentioned flee traps'

Faelis says 'what do you do on LS if trolls aren't showing on autotrack'

Shamokin says 'you manual tracking at 6 rooms?'

Isha says 'can you talk about leading as a rogue?'

Jaster hisses 'after the 6 rooms you are throwing a manual track'

Jaster hisses 'It will keep you consistent in the box of within the 6 rooms if he is past or not'

Jaster hisses 'As for flee traps, as a group your leader will tell you where to go'

Jaster hisses 'Or you as the leader need to tell your group where to go'

Jaster hisses 'It is important to use Specific names'

Jaster hisses 'You cannot just say block here'

Jaster hisses 'because that could be anyone and will end up being no one did it because they thought someone else did'

Jaster hisses 'You have to look, see who is not engaged and say IBGGGH block here'

Jaster hisses 'Then they can easily walk to the room and block it'

Jaster hisses 'Or trap it'

Jaster hisses 'understand?'

Faelis says 'losing, running and regroup coming in a bit?'

Jaster hisses 'next question?'

Isha says 'Can you talk about leading as a rogue?'

Jaster hisses 'No i will not'

Jaster hisses 'Rogues dont lead'

Isha says 'oh :/'

Jaster hisses 'They follow'

Isha says 'that sucks <img src=" title="Sad">'

Jaster hisses 'If you are a rogue, you follow the group and spam, you are the heart of a group'

Isha says 'ooooh, the heart'

Kaizer says 'I wish rogues followed...'
Jaster hisses 'You cannot do anything else but spam'

Isha says 'spam and block!'

Jaster hisses 'That is what a leader needs, someone who can do nothing but spam'

Jaster hisses 'And you have attack which helps sometimes'

Jaster hisses 'But your main goal is to spam'

Jaster hisses 'You can also buff 2 targets if you play dodge right'

Jaster hisses 'Now'

Jaster hisses 'Running away'

Jaster hisses 'For some people, they think running away is hard'

Jaster hisses 'Running is the easy part, Chasing is the hard part'

Jaster hisses 'As for running, just make your decision and stick to it'

Jaster hisses 'If you question it, you give the other side time to catch you'

Jaster hisses 'Which will make you have another decision to make on where to go'

Jaster hisses 'For the most part a leader will narrate out and TELL you where to go'

Jaster hisses 'Known as the regroup'

Jaster hisses 'It is important you get to the regroup spot as fast as you can'

Jaster hisses 'Because you will have solo chasers on the other sides'

Jaster hisses 'The team who can regroup the fastest everytime they battles is lost will win the fight in the long run'

Jaster hisses 'Unless it is just a battle of sheer #'s'

Kaizer says 'Most of the time on LS most people won't even try going to the regroup: they just run away, what should I do then?'

Jaster hisses 'I was about to hit on that'

Jaster hisses 'For some reason, i do not understand when a fight is lost, why someone runs 3-4 zones'

Jaster hisses 'You hurt the group and the side your on'

Jaster hisses 'Because to take yourself out of the fight'

Jaster hisses 'When regrouping, or even fleeing. you should never go past 1 zone away'

Jaster hisses 'a Whole group cannot realistically travel the spam over a few zones at 1 tic'

Jaster hisses 'When you call regroup point, call them to places people know, and that people can easily get to'

Jaster hisses 'Remember, regrouping fastest will win you the battle'

Jaster hisses '8 beat trollocs vs 3 healthy humans... the humans will flee off of sheer #'s'

Jaster hisses 'If you are a person who runs 3-4 zones away and is safe and clap yourself on the back. Think about all the people you just deserted '

Jaster hisses 'Who will possibly die now, that you ran your tail home'

Jaster hisses 'Everyone person counts'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'remember that'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'It will make you a good leader'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Anyone who knows me'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'KNows i make up names for regroup points'

Jaster hisses 'I make up rooms and call them "the secret room"'

Jaster hisses 'If you ever raided with me, you will know that each zone has a "secret room"'

Jaster hisses 'and if we lose i narrate go secret room'

Jaster hisses 'Now the room isnt so secret. Its wide out in the open'

Jaster hisses 'It has specific reasons why it is a secret room though'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Could be a perfect choke'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Could be a no hide'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'could be an easy to get to room'

Fong bellows 'Come get one in the yarbles!'

The dreadguard leaves east.
The dreadguard leaves east.
The dreadguard leaves east.

Jaster hisses 'But, its there because it makes regroupin easy'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
The dreadguard has arrived from the east.
The dreadguard has arrived from the east.
The dreadguard has arrived from the east.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Now i call it the secret room because i got tired of naming every different choke or points a new name'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'AKA Culhook'

The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz says 'Now he has no vocal chords.'

Jaster hisses 'I called the elbow east of Downer Culhook and people thought i was fighting the PC player culhook all the time'

Jaster hisses 'for the longest time'

Jaster hisses 'Now it is referred to everyone as culhook'

Jaster hisses 'Just as ASAW was made by someone else for short'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Elbow'

Jaster hisses 'Use these terms in specifics when calling upon groups or regroupin'

Jaster hisses 'People will react faster and get to the points faster'

Jaster hisses 'Dagre was the biggest player who utalized 4e'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'He made that point a massacre room'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'I took 1e of 4k junction and made that a massacre room for me'

Jaster hisses 'The reason why is because it has 2 no rides and you cant dline from it'

Jaster hisses 'AS the leader and follower you need to learn all the short Abreviations'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'It will help you become better'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'In finishing up about groups/chasing, i recommend the last segment be the most lasting one'

Jaster hisses 'I will take anymore questions before i close with the last segment'

Rummy says 'what about leading as a warrior?'

Toffag says 'What about a stalemate situation where the group which decides to break it and hit will be at a disadvantage (like ls hitting camp ent), etc?'

Jaster hisses 'Warriors can lead'

Jaster hisses 'The only difference is you do not have autotrack'

Jaster hisses 'You can still manual track and use that more frequent'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'but carry vials because it will cost your moves by manually tracking'

Faelis says 'the fleeing/regroup wasn't exactly what i was talking about... i'm more curio7us how you as a leader keep track of when you need to get out and regroup, how do you keep track of a whole groups hps etc'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'You will have to do more of a run to chokes thing'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'And track from there'

Jaster hisses 'Ah, ok'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'To answer Faelis'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'As a leader, pay attention to narrates'

Jaster hisses 'People will narrate hps'

Jaster hisses 'If they are low, their targets are low'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'You as the leader need to be able to read everything'

Jaster hisses 'You need to see that so and so is eating 3 ice spikes'

Jaster hisses 'You need to know who you're fighting and who you have'

Jaster hisses 'If you have a group of rogues vs a group of channies. you will know whats up'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'As a leader you should call out before you flee'

Mastacalus says 'one thing i recommend to is practice leading smob groups'

Jaster hisses 'practice'

Mastacalus says 'calling targets keeping fast pace and calling out etc every time'

Jaster hisses 'Leading smob groups will help you get the feeling of controling a group'
Zorgrusz says 'i was wondering about bashing...should the leader be doing all the bashing when chasing?'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Faelis says 'eh, i know pk chokes/spams etc but i only know how to get to maybe 3 smobs on the entire mud'

Jaster hisses 'A leader should bash when chasing'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Because you can always just chase onward and break the timer'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > say plus a leader can run bashes because they shouldnt be the ones spamming
You say 'plus a leader can run bashes because they shouldnt be the ones spamming'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster nods in agreement.

Jaster hisses 'Toffag says 'What about a stalemate situation where the group which decides to break it and hit will be at a disadvantage (like ls hitting camp ent), etc?''

Lakar has arrived from the south.
A Dha'vol trolloc has arrived from the south.

Jaster hisses 'OK'

Lakar whistles appreciatively.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'There will be times that stalemates happen'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'The more agressive leader will hit because he gets bored'

Jaster hisses 'Doing so usually will get someone killed on your side'

Jaster hisses 'Most players leading nowadays are so lax they just feel fine waiting and waiting until the other side gets bored'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'This is a shame'

Jaster hisses 'Most of the group are of the same caliber, yet they are afraid to fight on equal terms '

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'This happens'

Jaster hisses 'What occurs from this is the one side getting pissed and fireworking them, or resorting to cheap tactics to break them off and piss them off and try and kill them'

Jaster hisses 'In a perfect world everyone would wanna fight but thats not gonna happen'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'If you want to protect your group, if a stalemate happens in which you think its a waste of time'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Well, thats what it is, a waste of time. Just walk away'

Jaster hisses 'Next?'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Faelis says 'best way to break into leading just so man up and find a few people to follow you a few times? assuming someone has never led before?'

Jaster hisses 'Best way to break into leading is to go abs'

Mastacalus says 'id recommend getting a few levels as well'

Jaster hisses 'Wear abs and use a mattock or axe'

Jaster hisses 'RE-eqing as abs is very easy now'

Jaster hisses 'Now, chasing is the hardest part and that takes time to learn'

Jaster hisses 'You will need to know your limits, your characters limits, and all followers limits'

Jaster hisses 'Last segement is risk to reward and having fun'

Jaster hisses 'Very simple, you need to have a risk to reward'

Jaster hisses 'If you are in a full set, chasing the crit dude who ran into the door seems like its easy'

Jaster hisses 'But when you look at it, does it make sense for you to chase a crit lancelaut who is in 55abs and mattock in a door when your using a full set and heron?'

Shamokin says 'do you call out followers who arent doing a good job followign?'

Shamokin says 'after you told them 14 times :P'

Jaster hisses 'You need to account for the risk to reward'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'If its worth it'

Jaster hisses 'So when you pk, always have a risk to reward factor in it'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'A lot of times it might not be about eq'

Jaster hisses 'The risk vs the reward of killing reaver might be the thrill for you'

Jaster hisses 'Take the chance'

Jaster hisses 'Overall, you need to find a way to have fun'

Jaster hisses 'The game is for fun'

Sazi hisses 'a jerking circle'

Jaster hisses 'There are rules'

Jaster hisses 'There is RP'

Jaster hisses 'But overall, its up to you to make it fun'

Jaster hisses 'Eq comes and goes'

Jaster hisses 'People will come and go'

Jaster hisses 'At the end of the day, what do you feel good doing?'

Jaster hisses 'I for one like to kill people'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Eq is nice'

Jaster hisses 'But the feeling of killing people is better'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Leading people is what i do in real life. My job requires it'

Jaster hisses 'So the mentality of leading i have, i put forward in the game'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Everyone of you can do the same'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'It doesnt take rocket science to lead'

Jaster hisses 'You just need to be able to evaluate situations fast'

Jaster hisses 'I would recommend memorizing the player profiles i told you'

Jaster hisses 'The segment about chasing and how not to fall trap of chasing an Elite player in circles as he regroups his troops to smash your face in'

Jaster hisses 'Get excited about when you get High to Elite profile players lower and put the pressure on them'

Jaster hisses 'Lets be real, pressure makes people make mistakes'

Jaster hisses 'And it also makes diamonds'

Jaster hisses 'Some people will strive under the pressure and most will falter'

Jaster hisses 'You choose how it will end when your leading the group'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Do not let others make the choice for you'

Jaster hisses 'My last bit of knowledge that i can give you as a leader is to take the most chances you can within reason and read your own logs'

Jaster hisses 'You do not have to post and have other people tell you how bad you did or this and that. Read your own log and catch your own mistakes. It will help you not make them again.'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'If you can visually see what you did wrong without another person telling you. You will learn from the mistake faster. If you rely on someone else telling you. You will forget within a day'

Jaster hisses 'Any other questions?'

Shamokin says 'can i pay you to stop killing me?'

Jaster grins evilly.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Isha says 'can I pay you to play ss? :P'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Noikkor pukes on Isha.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Isha slaps Noikkor.

Isha says 'don't be jealous'

You bonk Isha on the head satisfyingly at her stupidity.

Jaster hisses 'I gave up on SS once they opened the race and ruined it'

Jaster hisses 'They should have kept the swearing of the oaths process as a way to remort into a SS'

Jaster hisses 'And the only way for me to stop killing you, is to be on my side at the time:P'

Mastacalus says 'when a leader needs to leave a group and pk MAY be nearby what should be the protocol?'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'But'

Jaster hisses 'If you are on my side, i do help you learn quicker:P'

Jaster hisses 'Next in command to lead should lead'

Jaster hisses 'Or the next person to say hey, i got this'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Jaster hisses 'Follow me!'

Faelis now follows Jaster.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh >
Isha falls down laughing.

Mastacalus says 'can you talk about raiding'

Noikkor says 'lets go make sex with kiraf's face'

Isha says 'What's the best way to learn the zones you plan to be leading in?'

Jaster hisses 'Walk them yourself and learn them'

Jaster hisses 'Dont use a map'

Jaster hisses 'It wont teach you anything but the picture a zone looks like'

Jaster hisses 'Any other questions?'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > clap
say thanks Master.. that was really informative
Clap, clap, clap.

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > You say 'thanks Master.. that was really informative'

Faelis says 'i'm gonna get a few groups killed this weekend'

The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz says 'Jaster has spoken.'

Jaster nods at the Dreadlord Jaeiryoz.

The Dreadlord Jaeiryoz nods at Jaster.

I remember attending this class -- mostly b/c of Fong's idle message that popped up every few minutes while Jaster was talking. Jaster getting annoyed and Fong subsequently dieing. :D

Someone should look up the where list for the zone. I want to say there was something like 30 people there.

I think it's aged well--and immortalized Fong.

I honestly thought I only started running into FD in the last year or two.

Lots of good content here - I'll be taking a lot of it on board.

Got one in the Yarbles that time. Jaster forgot to mention not to PLAY AT WORK and IDLE. Must say after having read through it that it is truly the definitive DS survival guide. Great job by Jaster.
