Why is there such a hate on for rogues?

...but yeah, Ragan is a good idea...ragan nohide is not. I literally go try to stab people blight till I run out of moves then go sit ragan and take a dung or give the baby a bottle or something. I remember when newbies used to hide in caem rogue prac because they were scared to death.

What's the point? It's just a bunch of people who have little-to-no experience or success playing other classes whining how one of the most handheld classes on the game (the one they happen to play) is persecuted. I'm arguably one of the best chasers on the game and your comments about how easy rogues are to kill if people'd stop being so damn lazy are truly awesome. It's like saying that if poor people weren't so damn lazy, they wouldn't be poor.

For myself, I'd take you guys a lot more seriously if you weren't so amazingly narrow-minded and talked about these issues from a game-wide balance perspective rather than just whining that everyone is picking on you. But then again, as someone already pointed out, this is Player's Lounge and nothing about this thread is aimed at actual productive conversation.

LOL this coming from the guy who only plays the most bonus characters in the game, in only the best eq, and seems to magically know every room mechanic in the game...strictly though experience I'm sure.

Just because it's a class you dislike fighting, doesn't mean that this is whining...I brought up some issues that I believe would make gameplay better for a bunch of people. How else is change brought about? People voice their concerns, its discussed, and maybe some changes are made.

I don't feel we should have to go on a room by room basis for no hides...we could just agree on the 1 per city thing, with maybe some exceptions. Even ragan..make it hide, but make ragan himself no stab. With us not being able to roll on engaged anymore, someone sneaks in between mob agro rounds and manages to get one off on you...then thats your own damn fault.

If thats the overall consensus, then I'm fine with that. I have had a good long run with this game..going on 20 years...and if thats the decision that comes down, I'm ok with hanging up my dagger and moving on.

Can you not give mobs %500 notice so they cant be stabbed? I assume that has already been thoight of but... I swear there are mobs in game like that.

What would REALLY be awesome...is to give rogues a 1 time only chance to change class to hunter/warrior, with a set of rerolls based on current statsum. I have 2 characters I would change 2 of my characters in a HEARTBEAT!

I think the hate for rogues comes from the fact that if a rogue doesn't want to die, they literally never have to and still are enjoyable to play and entertaining for the person playing (if not so much for anyone else).

However, there is literally nothing quite so enjoyable landing a stab especially now that we are all mostly very experienced and getting one off is almost always a small window requiring a lot of luck.

If no one is wanting to chase or PK against you (especially in low numbers PK) it means that you haven't been killed enough compared to how many kills you are getting. Simple solution there - take more risk.

I don't hate rogues, they have always made the game interesting and annoying in certain ways.

Some people are just whiny little tarts.

I used to play a mud where thieves/rogues could knock you out, then gag you so you couldn't communicate, bind you so you couldn't run away for a short time, and finally stab you while you lie there (with chance for blick). Also, the only characters who could detect hidden were other rogues.

Though I've been stabbed here a fair share of times, I have a lot less fear of rogues on this mud.
