Delete the Ways

Nobody uses them and I've on my trolloc, no night vision to see exits, using 'search guiding' Machin Shin catches up with me within 4 seconds of me deciding which direction to take, as he aggro's me i cannot 'pull leaf'. They are absolutely unusable and a waste of server resources. You might lose equipment to them though? Why not make death traps there, which requires no calculations.

I haven't used the ways since they removed the way it used to save paths. A long time ago, they used to be fun. Even was some pk in there. They are a waste of map space and mobol these days, but so is a lot of other stuff. This game is too large for the current playerbase, and too large for the current staff to properly manage. But changing that would be too much work.

Would rather make them easier to use than just deleting them entirely.

hate to be "that guy" but they actually are useable. Used them to do all the dreadlord quests. This should help you figure it out:

That's the format of the Ways. Once you know the format you can map them and use them. Not as easily as the first version but pretty easy and error free once you get used to it and spend some time mapping it each reboot.

You have to first figure out if your home waygate is connected to two other gates (G) or one gate and one junction (J). Once you find a junction you can find other junctions which lead to other gates. And when you go to another gate, the way back is just tracing your steps (unlike previous ways where there were lots of one way directions).

Well, if there is a method to the madness I'll have to explore some more, DT'd a bunch of gear in there lol.. thanks for the information. And the ways are pretty cool, I guess if you can figure them out.

I've used the ways extensively. I actually like them quite a bit how they are. They're not as simple as a portal, but they're pretty easy if you're willing to put in a little effort. Though some reboots they're definitely easier to use than others.

I've DTed in there a few times, but from my experience if you're sober / paying attention then you have to be trying pretty hard to DT.

I've long been interested in figuring out how to use the ways safely, but either I'm too slow or I get lost and then the monster catches me.
