Blademaster

Hey! I'm trying to get blademaster and have failed miserably. I even leveled all the way to 51 just to try it!

I am a 19 18 19 warrior with 408hp. I practiced 99 long blades, 99 bash, 99 attack. I used 84% abs and wicked swords.

First round I tried bashing and just missed a whole bunch and he beat me all the way. I also noticed he emotes even while bashed.

Second round I decided to try not bashing since it didn't seem to matter and I was winning until the blademaster hit batt and then he just went crazy and killed me.

I feel like going up against this guy with conventional methods is impossible. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? Do things like kick interrupt or reduce the chance of emotes?

All I can say is good luck. I have tried it many ways and failed every time. I would not use shiners in the attempt, Use burnished. I had best luck bashing him. I even took in a h/h g sword to bash, and also a Wsl to melee and switch between bash and damage. I finally gave up when I had him beat and was wounded and he emoted me dead while bashed. well over 15 abs kits poof.

You just need to accept the fact that it is nothing but dice rolls; you've set it up as well as you can, it sounds like, now you get to just go try it until you get lucky. Sucks, but it is what it is.

The only other controllable factor is to check his eq load before attempting. I had 99 lblades, bash, attack, wore full abs with a burnished, wsl, and a dagger, and rolled bashes. Not much else you can do other than getting master postures.

I will look when I get home and see if I can find log, but think I was 10/11 bashes and just got lucky that he didn't emote too much.

Do you have to use a sword just to fight him? I'd rather use a club, just to land bashes. If so, wield a garbage sword to 'get in' and then swap to a mallet.

Personally, I've always hated "Blademaster" simply because it's like a huge blinking light that tells anyone who doesn't know your character, "Hey, lookit me! I'm liable to zerk, so be sure to trick me by calling your friend!"

Not a plus, but a malus, imo...

Iirc, they added mobol to eat you alive if you aren't using a long blade. I've never understood the "It's dumb because it gives away you're a warrior thing." Unless you only pk on rare, rare occasions or never zerk, it doesn't take long to figure out when people are warriors.

It's something fun for rp, but sadly luck based. Having multiple blademasters in the room can get super spammy though too.
