Revamping the Warranting Rules
Re: Revamping the Warranting Rules
There is no checks and balances on the banishing. It's up to whatever hot headed potato is on at the time to banish for whatever they want for however long they want.
Re: Revamping the Warranting Rules
Great insight Pial. Thanks.
Re: Revamping the Warranting Rules
No need to mail me anything, since your examples don't mean anything, regardless of which ones you pick. Every clan has examples of warrants issued hastily, and every clan has examples of hastily issued warrants being quickly rescinded. As I already said, those are the minority of warrants. To make a case, you would have to show a pattern of hastily issued warrants that were maintained, a pattern sustained over a long period of time. Good luck with that. You can try to establish that type of pattern, and you will fail.pial wrote:Doesn't benefit me bud, I'm going to get pardoned! I don't want to be warranted. I'll mail you with two warrants in recent memory from your clan that certainly do not fall under either a last resort or in a long string of events.
Ibzon, like Zizek in the other thread, nails it. If warranting was as simple or as easy as warranting those who we individually dislike, there would be many, many more warrants issued. How do you explain all the players I dislike, or that other Lancers dislike, that don't have Fal Dara warrants?Ibzon wrote:It's hard not to make this personal about Pial because the issue IS personal. This issue is coming up here primarily because of one player. If this becomes a issue that affects more people, then it would be an issue that I think might deserve more attention. As it is, I don't think it's advantageous for us to expend major effort to help a person avoid the in game consequences of their actions, whoever that one individual might be.
Re: Revamping the Warranting Rules
I happen to agree with Zizek's post for the most part. I'm the kind of person who likes to know what rules there are so that I can know the consequences prior to making a decision. I like rules. I am okay accepting the consequences and adjusting my play-style accordingly.

These people have taken a position then try to argue it. Nothing to be done here. Don't want to deal with facts, want to talk about tracking down 800 people over a span of 12 years like I'm some type of investigative journalist.
Re: Revamping the Warranting Rules
The checks come when the banished does the right thing because they are innocent and reports their banishment to said clan and maintains their innocence by not breaking said banishment. The balance comes when that report comes around and gets that 'hot headed potato' in trouble/qps docked/ whatever for 'for whatever they want for however long they want'. More people get punished, less occurrences of events.pial wrote:There is no checks and balances on the banishing. The disbelief in a system arises from not using the system. If the banished can't follow the banishment, it gives the perception of guilt and continued mischief. Breaking banishment because 'it's unfair' isn't lawful. Follow the law, appeal, and issues become resolved.
Re: Revamping the Warranting Rules
Please, show me how my logic is wrong. Show me how my evidence is wrong. Show me a pattern of abuse. Explain to me why I let my friends be warranted on the characters they deserve to be warranted on and why I haven't warranted plenty of people I personally dislike. Explain to me why that also applies to the rest of the Lancers and the other justice clans in the game. You can't, and you won't.pial wrote:These people have taken a position then try to argue it. Aaaand this is quickly going right back to what Elysia locked the other thread for.
