WOTMAFIA - Murder in Maredo - RACQUEL WINS!!

[Rig]

Momma always told Rig he was special. Rig had many drinks while Momma wasn't looking. Momma caught poor Rig and took away his ale which made him sad.

[Weir]

Madness. So much coin wasted on fireworks and alcohol, people partying through the night. Is it a wonder something terrible happened, with such wanton waste.

A sad day for the town and for the mayor, but hopefully the town will take a lesson about the perils of too much fun.

[Astolfo]

Another life wasted, another light to soon snuffed out. Purpose alone gives structure to life, purpose from service to that which is greater than the self. Astolfo had his purpose this day. But before that could begin, he would need a good meal. Something of bread and lamb perhaps, with a healthy dose of garlic, like they enjoyed serving in Maerdo, so different than his usual fare. And nothing but water. Water only to keep the head clear for a day and night full of thinking. And perhaps action.

[Ashlee]

Ashlee sat in the back of the inn, slowly and absentmindedly nursing a mug of ale. News traveled fast through Maredo and already rumors were flying. She didn't know the poor mayor's daughter, but her death struck Ashlee as if they had been long-time friends. Things like this simply did not happen in Maredo. She looked up from the table toward the inn's door, wondering how long before the townsfolk congregated to begin trading rumors.

[Arkan]

Arkan was a bit dismayed hearing the story third hand, and that was clearly too close to comfort. "We're sure this wasn't an animal? There are a lot of viscous beasts out there." Arkan decided to hire a guard for his shop, something unheard of in this small town, but times were what they were.

[xoco]

Xoco sat quietly at a table near the tavern entrance, idly watching people pass in and out of the small painted doorway. There weren't many drinkers at this hour, but those that drank seemed to be the type to repeat their visits on a regular basis. From the table, Xoco heard small pieces of conversation, mostly whispered hoarsely while taking furtive looks around. Anyone who wasn't suspicious of strangers at this point was someone to be distrusted, that was for certain. Half the town had its hackles raised and stalked about as though whatever did the foul deed might lurch out from the midday shadows to repeat its gruesome task. Xoco overheard the word "trolloc" and grimaced. "Fairytales," Xoco murmured with a reassuring nod, just as the slurring local at the bar motioned to the barkeep for another drink.

[Aldwyn]

Aldwyn's eyes widen as he hears the news of the grisly death. He sits at his desk in shock, the messenger standing before him still. Ages seem to pass before he slowly stands and walks to the messenger, "Thank you for notifying me of this, I have much to see to though. Thank you." He ushers the messenger out unceremoniously and then bolts the door. Sliding to the floor before he begins to sob, unaware of any of the commotions beyond his four walls.

[Brocas]

Brocas stirred in bed and moans out at all the commotion taking place outside the walls of the small inn room. A couple of days in a quiet bedroom would have cured the migraine ailing Brocas, but waking to the noise of this morning put a stop to that. The ice in the bucket of water holding several small towels clinks as Brocas replaces the cold press with a new one. Coolness seeps into Brocas' forehead, "Light willing this migraine will be subdued soon."

[Carlia]

It had been a rough day for everyone. The news of the murder has spread throughout the entire town by now, and those not still hung over are cowering in fear.

Such violent crimes just did not happen in a small peaceful town such as this. It was absurd.

By the time the sun started to set the streets had been empty for hours.

With the rise of the moon came the howls of the wolves.

Aira went to bed early that night. She still wasn't in optimal condition after the previous night's bacchanal and maybe the extra rest would help her recover. She did make sure to lock all the doors.
