Just read about it, I know Detritus and some others are in NZ.
Anyone in touch with them at all? My thoughts are with the people there.

Yep, I live in Christchuch, still feeling some pretty big aftershocks. Christchurch is completely fine but there's a touristy town to the north (Kaikoura) with a few thousand people completely cut off because the only roads to the north and south of the town are blocked by pretty big slips (https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zea ... ke-says-pm). Lots of destroyed roads and stuff but nowhere near as much damage as the 2012 earthquake - since the epicenter was a lot more rural, but it sounds like it'll still cost billions to fix everything.

Here's to hoping the alpine fault (huge faultline down the middle of the south island of New Zealand) doesn't slip...
