@Braaeh: I don't think it's so much a dependency on the US, as wanting good for its people. Good obviously being subjective and from our perspective. When the US got Obamacare, there were many comments coming down to the US finally having joined the ranks of the civilized world. To people in other countries, an affordable, well organized health care system that is accessible to all is pretty much a basic human right and it completely baffled people that you didn't have it until recently. It equally baffles many non-US people that some might want to get rid of it. Like I said, to Americans that might come across as "crazy leftist", but that's just another thing that illustrates the disconnect between the US and western Europe for sure, but from what I've gathered this applies to Canada, Australia and New Zealand too.
Fyi, in Holland we had a poll about who we would vote for. 73% would vote for Clinton. Just short of 6% would vote for Trump. Before anyone blames the media for being anti-Trump, they've actually been trying very hard to show why people would vote for Trump for months. Imo it comes down to the US and western Europe literally and figuratively being an ocean apart.

To the person who asked, why vote for my candidate of choice, here are some reasons:
1) Environment. There is a huge rift between the two parties on this issue. There was a time when the Republican party understood that we needed to protect the environment. Many Republicans were early leaders. The Republican party of the today is vehemently anti-environment. Their platform this year is to get rid of certain national parks. www.lcv.org if you want a non-partisan organization's look. Now, talk to a normal Republican and he/she might really enjoy the outdoors, but the Members of Congress and Donald Trump do what they can to destroy it.
2) Education. The Democratic party likes to invest in education, while the Republican party likes to hate on teachers. I don't get it, but that's what it is. Look at what happened in Kansas and Wisconsin. Why do Republicans fight to make student loan interest rates HIGHER than what you would pay for a mortgage? Do we really want dumb citizens?
3) Hillary Clinton is actually the most honest candidate of this election. Various fact-checkers keep ranking her as the most honest. Despite what you hear from people who swallowed decades of Republican propaganda, she's actually not an evil liar. I mean, anyone who actually wants to be president probably has some issues, but she's not the devil. In fact, as long as Hillary is not campaigning for things like healthcare for kids, her popularity is quite high. There is a lot of hate out there.
4) Freedom of religion/speech. I'm a Jew, and while we're increasingly considered "white" and "in power," there are a lot of attacks on us in the US and worldwide. In the US, more than half of religious hate crimes target Jews. Trump's anti-Jewish tweets and his alt-right supporters don't help. Granted neither party is going to actually achieve any peace in the middle east, it's interesting to note that the Republican party's platform is counter to the Israeli one on (Israel wants a two-state solution, the Republican party does not).
There are conditions where I would go third party over the Democratic candidate, and I wish I saw more of that among Republicans simply for Trump's hate speech. I mean, I understand not switching to Hillary as I could never switch to a Republican as long as the party is the way it is, but that third party stuff matters. It doesn't matter much, but it matters.

I would vote Democrat and I admire Hilary for standing up to the Presidency and claims against her transgressions. Comparing them to Trump, well the scales are clearly not balanced. She maybe a lesser evil to you all, but I don't see her as one at all. Personally I think she will make it her own being President and do a good job out of it.
History should change its paths, firstly a Black President and now hopefully a female one. So her Husband was philandering with women. She is strong enough to not include him in her campaigns. He supports her as any spouse would, but why should his transgressions be hers.

No he isn't a straight talker [Trump] he hasn't had anything constructive to say in the whole campaign. He lies about what Obama said in a rally, he throws his dummy out when things don't go his way. People he previously praised, he ridicules due to actions not going his way.
He has also had his twitter account frozen by his Aides..What does that tell you compared to Hilary.
She knows what to say and how. Yes politics is a hard dirty business and I bet they all feel it to. Some politics are cleaner than others and will try to enforce viable living standards and so forth. It seems to be heavily entwined with religion in America , especially in the Republican Party. The anti LGBT attitude and so forth.
