A Spy for the North

Post by Roadeur » Wed Oct 12, 2016 10:18 am

The winds cried, but there was no Mary, there was only darkness.

Together the two Lancers braved the shadows, entering a rip in the fabric of the world wrought by Alayla Seida, through a glowing portal to the very gateway at the edge of the abyss. Brikk took the lead, stealing through the great Gates of Darkness and down into the bowels of Thakandar. The cries had changed then, no longer the wind, simply the broken screams of men trapped by the Dark One's touch. Would that they could save them all, but they had a mission.

Striking the bolts from a cell with a swing of his axe, Roadeur ripped open door after door, searching for the one they had been sent to recover. Down the corridor he could hear his brother Brikk doing the same, the groans of anger at the horrors discovered behind each door. First they found the soldier. Then they found the spy. Each would be brought home to the light that day.

With their wounded bretheren following, Brikk led the party out through the open gates and away from the burning shadows that shrouded that place. They stole through the blasted lands, down through mountains covered thick with the blighted hand of the shadow. A dreadguard sought to find them, but he was too slow, and the men he chased had more purpose than simple vain glory.

It was with great relief they found the gates of Fal Dara open before them. Praise the light they whispered, pushing down their hoods as they entered the cobbled streets of the city that held back the Shadow. Lord Agelmar was delighted. Lord Uno was delighted too, but he still yelled at them.

The mission complete, the two brave soldiers ushered their bretheren to their new home, into a tower overlooking a dusty road. So thankful was he for his own survival, the Spy in the North agreed to pass on his skills to future warriors of the light, so they might better equip themselves with the underhand tactics that could one day mean the difference between life and death.

The Spy in the North can be found in the Dusty Tower, where he will now teach the ways of the rogue to the people of the north.

Praise to the Light, and the Lancers.
