Re: Yo Immortals
Having 1 room with a channeling mob to even out LS channelers sounds reasonable to me.
Re: Yo Immortals
I’ve always said the same thing about this. Since the game is coded the way it is, the weaves will fly once combat starts.
A simple fix, or at least a step in the right direction, would be allowing the weave to be changed. For example, instead of channeling Fireballs that deal 200 damage, the mob could cast Flame Strike instead. There’s a huge difference between eating three Flame Strikes and three Fireballs within two rounds.
But then again, I assume changing the weave or the damage isn’t possible.
That said, like Reck mentioned, the area probably needs some kind of patrol to counter large groups of channelers.

Re: Yo Immortals
It’s not a counter to channeling. It’s a crutch.
No channels are a counter. Hard channels are a counter. Malf is a counter. The 21 strength all Ds have access to is a counter.
This is a crutch used consistently by Ds to hide. 4 Ds were at that dl vs 3 until I arrived in the above.
Anything that is rng with that level of damage should be gone. Doesn’t matter what side it’s on. Will the dl throw 4 fireballs in a round or two or just one? It’s completely random but devastating regardless. This is the same reason dl was removed from Blodfest.
By all means put a full patty with a no channel there. But remove the dl.
Ds have access to 2 hard channels, one with pretty huge support within 10 rooms of there. There’s a reason they went there first. Its a free kill generator

By all means put a full patty with a no channel there. But remove the dl.
Ds have access to 2 hard channels, one with pretty huge support within 10 rooms of there. There’s a reason they went there first. Its a free kill generator
Re: Yo Immortals
I know it's frustrating to see that but I don't agreee
There has to be somewhere that can allow people to get some counter damage out when they have lost heavily.
People always say 3v4 etc but if the three is a r8 wb, a master fc etc and the 4 are non buffed chars etc.
That's the beauty of the game, there are all kinds of player bonuses and player skil levels and gameplay experience levels. And there are rooms and mobs that allow for v diff kinds of balance.
Plus it's not like people sit there forever - they may want to catch a breather, come up with a new gameplay etc - it allows for more strategy and flexibility.
You hit there knowing what can happen. I think if it was incin that's different but you have to know what setup and hp level can go there

Re: Yo Immortals
Compromise fix, no channeler last resort fallback mobs in 1 exit hard to flee rooms.
Re: Yo Immortals
It would be cool if the room summons a channie mob if LS has a channeler present (similar to Agelmar) - penalties of pking with channelers :D
Note: as a ds channie player I absolutely love that btw because it really means the group has to think about what they bring into the hit, you don't just get a free pass to nuke low players

Re: Yo Immortals
Your lack of managing your mood correctly while buffing the DG does not mean the DG should be removed.
Until the stupid yew-meta ends, this logic will not change. The balance team seems to agree with "but I'm a channeler and I need to be able to channel to play my character" more than meaningful counter-play in most cases.
dismounted bash maximum land rate is 60%. Even when ignoring quake and the short weaves, 99% chance for the long weave to kill the basher vs getting sat for maybe 1-round on 60% chance and something like a 3% chance to fail the auto-flee means the statistical averages works out in the channeler's favor by a large margin. Throw in that the basher is likely on the defensive and the one spamming, and the weave has a good chance of finishing before/during the bash.
Plus, there are limits to max engage that the channelers don't have to worry about. And it's not like they need to be mood brave or even normal to function, they take very little risk compared to the one trying to bash them.
And "hard channel" rooms still have a higher weave land rate than dismounted bash.
No-chans just end pk, or if one side has overwhelming numbers where the mobs at the no-chan are not sufficient, then DS moves back to TKD and pk once again ends.

lol no.

Re: Yo Immortals
I was already wimpy newb.
This response is like getting a typing lesson from a guy who has never typed and has no fingers. Specifically because its you.
No channels kill pk? But dg doesn’t. Dumbest thing I’ve seen anyone say in a while.
Im one of those that believes channelers are problematic in pk and often do not understand just how broken their characters can be. To all sides collective detriment. But I think imms are aware of some of the issues surrounding them. And if you aren’t seeing the effects 21 str bash has on dodge players, in general, you’re out of your mind.
I’ll repeat again, no mob should channel. But especially not in a city.

Re: Yo Immortals
It's approximately the same impact as a human mounting a horse, for OB, but without the +5% bash land chance. It has an effect, sure, but it's less than going from a non-rare to a craft rare weapon in most cases.
But the way nearly all of the pk zones are set up, you don't really see that impact outside of DS hitting LS in agelmar area (if you thought bashing a DL was hard initially, being forced to be dismounted just makes the match up even more stupid).
The removal of no-fire/no-ice in FD was equally stupid, but alas it's the choices that the balance team made. FD has the red sitter, who, unlike the DG, will chase. And Keep has the one channeling mob. And TV has far, far too many combined with the instant bash + disarm weapon to ground mobs.
