Oval Lecture Hall
This oval lecture hall is large enough to seat a large congregation. Rows
of polished wooden benches rise up from the central floor, each row a
little higher than the previous one. A dais with an elaborately carved
chair sits before a pair of doors at the front of the hall. Wide scrollwork
runs beneath a gently domed ceiling painted with sky and white clouds.

The innkeeper bustles about, helping guests into rooms.
Isolet curtseys gracefully.
Chloro says 'Ah yes much better.'
Isolet says 'Shall I close the door, Aes Sedai?'
Tissaya curtseys before Chloro.
Chloro channels a thread thin flow of air, closing the doors silently.
Chloro closes the doubledoors.
Tissaya says 'I apologize for my tardiness'
Isolet smiles happily.
Chloro says 'I will forgive it once Tissaya, however, be sure to learn the Tower
inside and out.'
Tissaya nods in agreement.
Tissaya says 'It won't happen again Chloro, Sedai!'
Chloro says 'Now, Tissaya, please relate your question to Isolet.'
Chloro shifts her weight from one heel to the other as she adjusts the fringe on
her shawl.
Tissaya turns and faces Isolet with a puzzled face.
Isolet looks inquisitively at Tissaya.
Tissaya says 'I was walking through the halls of the Gray Ajah and I felt this
tingling on my skin. I wasn't sure what it was, but I also felt as though I had lost some of
my ability to weave, or rather that I had weaved something and was a little drained.'
Isolet ponders life, the universe, and everything.
Chloro smiles her calculating gray eyes weighing and measuring both girls."Do
you have a theory Isolet?"
Isolet says 'That is a stumper! There are a few possible explanations.'
Chloro says 'Please elaborate'
Isolet says 'There could be a ter'angreal in the vicinity that might affect
women who can channel, for example.'
Chloro says 'That could be a possibility, if we are discussing hypotheticals. '
Tissaya says 'I don't know if this would help, but I also noticed it when I passed
from room to room.'
Isolet says 'There could also be some sort of warding in the area.'
Tissaya says 'I don't know if that is coincidental, but seemed to be the timing.'
Isolet nods vigorously.
Isolet says 'Those are the two main explanations I can think of.'
Chloro says 'Well, lets put that theory to the test. Both of you may embrace,
enter then Gray wing, and move from room to room. Report back to me when
complete. We will discuss your theories at that time.'
Isolet nods vigorously.
Isolet opens the doubledoors.
Tissaya says 'At once, Chloro Sedai'

Tissaya says 'I couldn't see you as we passed through and it clearly occurred when we crossed a border.'
Isolet says 'That is very interesting.'
Chloro brushes some dust from the top of an unused desk. "What theories do you
have now?"
Isolet says 'Well, I think I can infer that such a thing would not exist unless
the Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah want there to be such a thing.'
Someone knocks on the doubledoors from the other side.
Isolet says 'It also reminded me a bit like entering a stedding, though the
effect was not as severe'
Chloro smiles warmly with a twinkle in her eye. "Can you think of why?"
Chloro opens the doubledoors.
Rylea has arrived from the south.
Lady Rylea Maconar, Warder to Chloro Sedai
Storm gray eyes regard you from under an unruly mop of curly ash blonde
hair. A faint scar runs from near her left eye to near the left corner of
her mouth.
Rylea closes the doubledoors.
Tissaya curtseys before her.
Chloro hugs Rylea.
Rylea bows before Chloro.
Isolet says 'So I continue to believe that it is some sort of ward, for
privacy.'
Isolet curtseys before Rylea.
Rylea says 'Hello Chloro Sedai.'
Tissaya says 'The warder of Chloro, Sedai, Rylea! '
Isolet says 'Due to the sensitive nature of the Gray Ajah's work'
Chloro says 'Privacy? Is that the only reason you could think of for my Ajah to
place up a ward?'
Isolet says 'A ward against shadowspawn perhaps? That could be another reason'
Chloro says 'Why would a ward against Shadow spawn effect women who could
channel?'
Isolet says 'I haven't tested, but it might keep out rats or ravens'
Tissaya says 'To keep Accepteds such as myself from wandering into places that could
be dangerous to them? '
Rylea chuckles politely.
Chloro chuckles politely.
Rylea stops using a wickedly scythed longsword.
Isolet says 'I know that it affects women who channel for sure, but that doesn't
mean it can't affect shadowspawn as well, in a different way'
Chloro says 'Oh child, you accomplished that by leaving the Accepted Gallery
every morning since you were raised to the ring.'
Tissaya smiles happily.
Rylea leans the sword against a bench and settles down on it.
Chloro says 'Rylea, do you have any thoughts on it, my Gaidin?'
Chloro says 'Gaidin often have different perspectives than we do, who can
channel.'
Rylea says 'Thoughts? I'm supposed to think?'
Rylea grins evilly.
Rylea says 'Hmmm.'
Rylea says 'Well, with the Brown it was preservation of books mostly.'
Rylea rubs her jaw.
Chloro looks to the Accepted gauging their body language to the Gaidin's
explanation.
Rylea says 'For the Gray, against eavesdropping, also to let them potentially
know if someone is about is a thought.'
Isolet smiles happily.
Rylea says 'Not necessarily a danger, but knowing where and potentially who is
around would be helpful I think.'
Tissaya says 'In that line of thought, maybe if brokering a deal between nations
would be one such activity that the Grays would want to be alerted to
intruders?'
Chloro says 'I will leave you with this. It is both defensive, and a preventive
measure, as complex as any White sisters Ward. However, it is also a lesson to
those who wander about embraced in a den of snakes that could strike at any
moment. Remember girls, you were the banded dress, that means you are part of
tower politics. I suggest you start having better view of your surroundings from
a channelers perspective.'
Isolet nods vigorously.
Chloro says 'If you were charged with procuring and protecting the peace outside
of this Tower, trade, commerce, shipping, the flow of young girls without
hindrance, and some of the most shady political dealings on the continent. Do
you no think you would also put up a ward?'
Isolet says 'I certainly would!'
Rylea says 'Oh yes, you're in the game now, whether you want to be or not. Were
raised with it or not. Actions always have repercussions seen and unseen.'
Chloro smiles her eyes taking on a predatory gaze as thoughts drift through the
bond.
Tissaya says 'It certainly makes sense to.'
Isolet says 'The gate guards and warders are great, but many layers of security
is important.'
Rylea taps her nose.
Chloro Looks to Rylea, but talks from the side of her mouth. "If you think only
the Grays employ such tactics, you would be bigger fools than you appear."
Chloro says 'You are both dismissed, but do let me know if you find any other
oddities.'
Tissaya senses Chloro connecting to the True Source.
Chloro opens the doubledoors.
Tissaya senses Chloro is channeling saidar.
