Gone for good now

Post by Stanislav » Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:09 pm

I guess it is time for me to finally say a goodbye.
It was a great long run for many years with some breaks here and there. WoTmud will always stay in my heart and memory as the best game I've ever played. I've met some great people and had endless hours of enjoyment and fun since 2002.
I'd like to thank all the people who became my mud buddies, the game would never be that much fun without you. Best of luck to you, friends!
I'd like to thank imms who keep this game alive and updated - you are doing great job and finally made coding REAL!

Alas, some things just not change over years. Certain things, people and actions still give a bitter taste and it is harder to ignore them at this current state of the game. May be I used to be more bristled and able to shrug off bad things to enjoy what was good. May be I became a softie over years. Regardless, the thrill of pk and fun is very limited now(opposed to endless pk back in days), thus it can not outweight the dissapointment which you sometimes(often) have to deal with.

I don't like this. Please take a hiatus and return promptly around the holidays or any other time, essentially for any other reason. People are what make the mud great. Pk is just how we spend our time together here.

I've also quit but nice to see familiar names and see how they're doing - I have good memories playing against you (particularly on my fc), and the DF interactions were fun. keep in touch!

this game truly was a rare space with people from all over the world, and having such a strong presence in our lives for decades. i don't think there are many such spaces around.
