FIXED: tower library book titles

Post by Faoleha » Sun Jan 22, 2023 8:30 pm

I could've sworn that I heard that all of the books were supposed to have been fixed to the new character limit, but it looks like this one was missed:

Sorting Racks
A small room lies before the head librarians office to the north, which is
closed off by a low gate. Several books are stacked on a small rack before
the counter, and a number of low, wheeled book carts clutter the room,
containing books in need of filing. An end-table in the southwest corner
contains a few worn-looking books, including one whose binding is in
tatters. An exit north leads back into the hallway. A sign is posted over a
bookshelf detailing instructions for book re-shelving.

A bookshelf made from imported wood stands against the wall here.
A young woman is here thinking to herself.
A frail woman tends the library, dusting shelves as she goes.

It is 1 o'clock am, on the 18th day of the month of Danu, year 1494.
According to legend and prophecy, this is the First Turn of the Wheel.
Rumors spread of people vanishing into Tel'aran'rhiod.

The First Depository
Giant shelves of tomes are sandwiched against one another, each resting
atop a number of parallel tracks set into the floor. Each monstrous shelf
has a wooden device that resembles a ship's wheel sticking out of its end.
Repeated turnings of the wheel will slide that shelf and all those next to
it a span in either direction. This process opens up aisles between
formerly impenetrable stacks, allowing access to the books within. A sign
mounted on the end shelf indicates the content of the shelves.

And another is incorrectly labeled.... "The Fauna of the Caralain Grass" is matched to the animals section, not the plants.

The Fourth Depository
A prodigious collection of low, wheeled book carts nearly block one of the
passages between the bookcases which stand in the center of this long, oval
chamber. The carts seem to stocked with titles that pertain to the subject
of botany. The books that line the shelves nearby are studies and drawings
of herbs, trees, and other plants. A few open books on stands have both
sketches of plants, as well as an assortment of pressed flowers and leaves.

West Wing of the Library
Colorful floor tiles laid in repeating rows of Ajah colors cover the floor
of this wide hallway, which forms the center of the Great Library of Tar
Valon. Evidently the work of Ogier stonemasons, the walls of pale white
stone have been masterfully carved to show huge figures, depicting
fancifully garbed people and strange animals ten feet tall or more. A pair
of carved double doors on bronze hinges open up to the north, while a
smaller room with a plain door marked with a brass sign lies to the south.

The Fourth Depository
Bookcases of dark, polished wood line the walls of this long, oval room.
Small stands have been set up at the end of a row of bookcases, allowing
for a quick perusal before bringing the book to a study or the main reading
room. Each of the various works lying open has an intricate and detailed
drawing of an animal. The pages are open to a wide array of fauna. One is a
detailed diagram of the muscles of a horse, while another depicts a frog
that has been opened from sternum to pelvis, exposing its internal organs.
One drawing is a sketch of an enormous, orange striped hunting cat.

That one’s not a bug. “Flora” refers to plant life. “Fauna” refers to animal life.

Who'd have thunk, the " " counts too. Meaning that one of them was at 51 instead of 49.
