Fun to see Slice being used, however it still seems very lackluster and unless you want to experiment or like the idea of slice, I'd probably just use another weave if I were you. Or at least keep it as a trick. If it buys you one flame strike on the opponent it has probably done its job, but it seems like it cost you a 2-3 for the one you gained.

Yeah, I agree with your assessment. I do plan to keep it still because I do want to experiment with it more and I think it has some viable niche uses. But I plan to use it less frequently and focus on my weave timing instead.

Slice weave gives opponent a pulse of lag. So if you slice and time we’ll, you can get an ice spike off before their flamestrike if they double tap fstrike or if they are caught off guard a bit.

It actually gives 2 pulses of lag currently as far as I can tell, based on some testing in game and what has been shared in Announcements. It’s also easier when you use Call Lightning (10 pulses) instead of Ice Spikes (13 pulses). I think it would be neat if Slice forced someone to drop the Source instead of the lag, or if it drained their SP as if they had also failed their weave. But even as it is, I think it’s a neat weave in some situations.

I haven't had a chance to use slice yet but this looked like a great and short fight.

Jestin stuffed himself with the dline back in at the end and the lucked out at the gate I think.

Jestin 'could' have been a lot more active letting her suicide herself on quakes at the end - walking out if he's not at least pulses into the quake when she enters;

Typically DLs have an advantage in Fal Dara where earthquake is not a permitted weave; nor is combat North of Fal Dara with other humans engaged (but generally only an issue if someone has an issue and is reported to lancers; if I'm going to use quake I ask my groupmates permission), that gets kind of negated if the FC doesn't know its not permitted!

Using quake in general inside a city just seems like a bad idea asking for a warrant from mobs :P

Looked like a good fight though! Interesting to see slice in use.
