I really missed this. You guys seriously are somehow the smartest people on the internet. Well some of you are. Either way, its a good mix of education and entertainment.
My views are that argument is good. Even legal protestation is good. But reality TV? How did we descend to that in a quarter generation? Like a South Park episode is turning into reality, right in front of you. And Cruz is the sack of dung that should have been stomped out, but wasn't because Trump is taking up everyone's attention. Wow..

I really like Melat's post. Somehow, seeing a RL craziness transposed into WoTmud terms makes it even funnier. But also sad, because you realize that something that fits so well into an alternate fantasy world really, really doesn't belong in the real one.
Very well done, Melat.

Im not from the US and i dont follow the elections that closely, but things drip through. But politics seems to have become the goal rather than the means for to many people. Drumpf doesnt seem like a guy who has any interest in progressing or helping anyone but himself.
Does the system work? Without great knowledge of how it works it would seem to me that a country that size with SO MUCH diversity is a nightmare for unity.

For decades:
The Republican Party tells you not to trust the news
The Republican Party tells you not to trust schools
The Republican Party tells you not to trust scientists
The Republican Party tells you not to trust the government
The Republican Party tells you to trust rich people
And I am supposed to be shocked that Trump is their leader? Not for a moment. And I do say better him than Cruz. When it comes to crazy, better an ego than a idealogue.

Someone said this is an IQ test for America, and that is very true. The thing that strikes me about Drumpf is that without the millions of votes, he is just a guy with a squirrel on his head. So actually some real good has come out of him running: all the racists, and fascists that were in this country hiding in plain site have revealed themselves. And there is an astonishing amount of them. But now we know who the Republican party is made up of. People who view the perfect America as all white and all Christian. And everyone else can go eff themselves.
I was really hoping for the Sanders thing to happen. I even bought a damn bumper sticker. Unfortunately after losing New York, it's a bit of a moonshot. However, if you look at the breakdown of the NY vote, he won handily ages 18 to 40. Ages over that he lost. This at least gives me hope that the younger generation does not believe the lie that this country can't do what every other industrialized nation does: care for its citizens. I have no problem paying taxes if it gets me healthcare and a strong public school system. The problem is my taxes go to building military blimps that go rogue.
All in all it is a fascinating election cycle, and truly the fate of the world seems to rest on our decision: do we go down the road of hate and utter lunacy where facts are optional, or do the rational people prevail.

So does the Dump as the last Republican standing mean that Bill is going to be the First Gentleman? Having had a non-White President it is time for America to have another first with a Female leader. And, lets face it, I rather it was her with the "Finger on the Button" - God help us all if the Dump has to handle North Korea...

Re: Politics, YAY! The Trump.
Might I just say that the fact that Trump actually has a real shot at becoming the next American president, home of the free and supposedly face of "democracy"(not really sure you are entitled to call yourself a democracy, but whatever), has actually made me believe in persecuting people based on their political view. Hopefully America goes bankrupt before you/Trump starts world war 3.

Here is one more thing to think about regarding the upcoming election.Aira wrote:I saw that too, had me laughing for a good long while.Mangler wrote:I think the best comment I've seen so far is "America, this is your IQ test. The world is watching, and so far the results don't look good!" Hah.
I'm starting to feel that is what politics is... picking the least of two evils.Lykan wrote:"I don't like him, but he's better than xxx so I'm likely voting for him."
