Basin for light side?

Mainly an issue for off-peak hours play I guess but right now we can scout everything from RK to TKD and still not find pk if DS is committed to smobbing over pking. As it is a pk mud, could LS also get a basin so that we can use the new ways/portals etc to bring pk to the other side?

LS/SS have plentiful female channelers and enough R8's with zone sense, so you don't need a 'basin' style hand-hold to locate DS. Plus in the off hours, numbers are usually less than 5 and are generally statters, Wellguards, or insomniacs!

If between zone sense and track you're finding no one, then there's no one to be found.

I think a simpler solution would be more narrating scouts. That way you 'announce' you're around for PK, rather than having additional tools to locate others like the basin.

Scouts are one of the best changes for us non-US hour players in my 20+ years on the mud. Adding a trolloc scout for humans to trigger W dusty + south side of Winding, maybe even one Blighted Stedding, and adding a human scout for trollocs to trigger Dusty/northern side of Borderlands zone + making the west Dusty/Greenlands scout in an accessible and perma position would be really helpful. Not sure where else?

There are pkers.. I can name at least ten. Maybe 2-3 who have locate-abled alts.

Zone sense doesn't help when people can fade around hitting smobs.

All am saying is that LS doesn't get a free pass to avoid pk and smob danger-free..why shoud DS?

I agree.

Ds shouldn’t have the basin in my opinion. I don’t believe for any reason, even with them having it, ls should have anything similar either.

Love Roadeur’s idea though. The scout that alerts west lug has triggered quite a few pk sessions lately. And has been good for the game. Even if these flames aren’t fully fleshed out/coherent yet

This also isn’t just a pk mud.

A basin isnt going to help you with this, you will just be mad Im gone by the time you get to the smob. You would have to catch me right at the exact moment I entered into the smob. Likelyhood of doing this once a zone repop is slim. You are more likely to see that our statters have 7000 trees north of keep or that I am sitting afk somewhere in TKD while on a work call. For everyone 1 basin that yields a kill, there are usually 10 or more of nothing but newbies.

DS basin was a prize for a DS global quest win, which quest I am failing to remember as it was 21ish years ago. One of the things that was created when the mud had many more players logged in and less fast travel methods. Its definitely something that no longer fits the smaller and more mobile player base. If it is not something completely removed, maybe limiting it further to non-remorts only would be helpful.

basin is pretty dumb imo. could scrap this and gleamers in the same night and I'd not bat an eye at it.

Basin sucks, as does smob reports... most would agree.

Now, if the narrating mobol on Silvak could get cut down to once or twice a tick, like on half-tick and tick, and you add that to most the smobs around the map then everyone gets some notice, the hunters and the prey.

For the cross race stuff perhaps:

A Kandori Scout narrates 'Trollocs are attacking a filthy man in the blight'
A Darkfriend narrates 'Humans are attacking Lord Silvak in Falme'
