The sarcasm exit was back that way...isabel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 3:45 pmI mean by that same logic..why not change col time to 2 hours, make all gear !notake, have smobs load only 1 item each.. etc. You can dramatically enhance the 'thrill' of losing gear every time you pk.
I'd be totally fine with col time being like 4 tics, and alting time being xrace being 4 mins. More than that is time enough for pk to change quite a bit so it's not really relevant. But the first is coding, and the second will probably happen only after another 10 years (?!).
Imagine if instead of splitting gear, people ONLY split scalps, uniques/rares, and focused more on pk mechanics!
An OOC proposition

Re: An OOC proposition
Yeah gear is the main risk / reward component.
Another thing this would remove is the heroic moments of looting your allies gear, which is a fun part of the game.

Re: An OOC proposition
Or the unheroic moments when your ally falls and you loot his heron and then because you overspammed you then also drop it.. erm.. cant imagine who would do such a thing
Re: An OOC proposition
You all make excellent points!
Re: An OOC proposition
I think most people already practice what you are saying. I started advocating pretty heavily 5 years ago that this game has sooooo much gear. This is the current TKD barrel 4-5 hours after Razhak, myself, Loomis Cruoris etc killed 7-8 over a PK session. This is after many of the weapons/gear was already taken/equipped on rammed trollocs to defend moriding. Its insane.
barrel (here) :
[3] a shining steel breastplate
[2] a pair of ebony-steel plate greaves
a shiny copper dagger
a pair of thin metal leggings
[2] a thin, black chain
a set of riveted chainmail leggings
a bronze belt of odd design
a thick pair of leather work gloves
a dark, hooded cloak
a reinforced boarskin helmet
a plain weapons belt
a dark, grim axe
twenty copper pennys
a chain coif
a blanket
the death scalp of a black wolf slain in Shienar
[2] the death scalp of a Shienaran footman slain in the Blasted Lands
a gator skin bracer
[2] a pair of metal half-gauntlets
a pair of ebony-steel plate vambraces
a pair of dark green lacquered vambraces
[2] an ivy bracelet
[8] a hunk of beef
[2] a leather water flask
a length of rope
a stout longbow
a ridged steel bracer
a rimmed round helmet
[2] a bubbling draught
[2] a backpack
[3] a ring of silver
[4] an oilstone
[3] a water skin
[6] a large slab of meat
[15] a mirrored lantern
[2] a strange fruit
[2] a long-handled war axe
[2] a lantern
[2] a thin mail shirt
[2] a full metal shield
[4] a pair of thin metal boots
a red-veined rod of black marble
[10] a soft leather pouch
[2] a brown sack
an emerald ring
[2] a belt pack
[3] a studded leather belt with a crossed swords buckle
a pair of earthen colored breeches
a silver Kandori wristcuff
an opal choker of fiery blue and pink beauty
[2] a pendant of black quartz
You need to change your RK ram looting run to TKD looting

Re: An OOC proposition
Yah so you ganked with 2 fades and 2 masters once I was low and then looted and then the dung sat barrel and I'm naked cant be bothered logging in to reeq today so that was a win I guess?
Re: An OOC proposition
Habit from another game. But yeah I get your point you're right.
Re: An OOC proposition
Sad that the once legendary Kryyg had to resort to such (cough cough) underhand methods though!!!
I think the thing with re-eq is also that it gets dull - like this is what my alt has:
99, a disgraced Arafellin officer
This time since I've been back I've been learning new spams - I can finally spam from Maradon to FD near perfectly, Cairhien to Ren Aiel near perfectly, and brushing up spams from EF to Katar, and next on my list is spams from Tear to Mayene and south spine (from wild load to Tear) which I'd forgotten, and after that probably GF spams.
I think the key word is "forced" to re-eq. For instance, since I don't play with maps and the game immersion experience is much better for me without maps (dying in a zone I don't know for instance is great motivation for me to start learning it - if I played with maps, I wouldn't bother really...whereas without, you get that confusion/disorientation/panic etc that makes it fun.. similarly, misspamming and landing up in a new place - discovering some portal stone - all that advenuture and fun), learning spams is a must for me to get anywhere. Still I wouldn't call someone who doesn't learn spams and relies on maps "lazy" jus because they're not FORCED to put in that kind of effort - I just assume that they're doing something else they can opt to do, that is making the game more fun for them. And I'm GLAD they have the option to play in a way that is funnest for them.
Anyway this was just an idea, not a big deal either way.

Re: An OOC proposition
Lol, Kryyg and Razhak killing a bunch of newbies in thin main shirts and full metal shields. Hate to see it.
