Small brag, but... beer and wine!

Post by Vivienne » Mon Jun 20, 2016 2:45 pm

It's been a while since I mentioned the whole beer and wine thing, with all that goes with it, so here's an update for those interested. This is one of the things that has taken up a lot of my time in the past year, on top of everything else.

I spent this past weekend at a brewing competition. I came home with a silver medal for our Vanilla Imperial Porter. I'm pretty happy with that. Now, if only I had medalled on the Two Rivers Stout... LOL!

Some of you that are on Facebook may already know this, but for those of you that are not; our winemaker entered nine of our wines into this years Orange County competition. Last Saturday the judging occurred and of the nine wines entered, eight were awarded medals. Medals included three Double Gold, one Gold and four Silvers. Needless to say, I was very happy with the results (which exceeded my expectations as a silent/founder partner, I really don't make the wine anymore).

Double Gold medal wines included the 2013 Primitivo, the 2014 Primitivo and the 2014 Syrah. Gold went to the 2013 SGM (Syrah+Grenache+Mouvedre). Silvers were awarded to the 2014 Petite Sirah, Grenache and Rhone Ranger, plus our estate 2013 Zinfandel.

I know, I know... I tend to get into a lot of stuff, but when I find what I like doing and it gives me joy, I tend to put my best effort into it. <3
