At the Small Waterhole
With flowing grass at all sides, some small clusters of trees grow in almost

circle, casting their shadows on a small waterhole. The grass is trampled
down,
and the ground is almost bare near the water. This seems like a place many of
the animals of the plains visit frequently. The vast plains continue in all
direction from here, seemingly endless.

A Small Rocky Outcropping at the Plains
This may be called a breaking of the otherwise monochrome landscape on the
plains. In the middle of nowhere some rocks arise from the ground, making
odd formations, and might be a good hiding place for plains animals. The
plains stretch on to the south and west.

Vast Plains
To the north, beyond a tangle of grassy stalks and brush, lies a path that
cuts through the plains. Leading to the west, the path heads towards a
forest, while it also appears to turn away northwards into the distance.
Different types of trees dot the plains, growing in clumps and copses. To
the east and south, the plains of Altara spread out in a sea of yellow.

The merchant road lazily bends east and south, its hard packed surface
allowing nothing to take root and sprout. The looming rift named Garen's
Wall looms to the south-west, while another similarly jagged rift named the
Damona Mountains lies to the south-east. A wide gap lies between the two
mountain ranges and the road seems to be headed in that direction.

To the north lies a path that travels across the plains, leading to a forest

the west, and into hills to the east. Directly to the west, thick, waist-high
prairie grass makes the way impossible to cross.

On this plains junction, a narrow path leads away from the road and
ventures north, while the merchant road continues on to the east and west.
The grass to the east and west has a beaten appearance. The grass off the
path to the north, however, looks as though it has not been trod upon in
some time. A light breeze causes the grass of the plains to sway gently.

begin to thin a little. All around, a tall, golden field of grass waves

for a little way. The path continues to the north, and in the distance can
be seen the wide open plains of Altara.

Yard Outside an Abandoned Cabin
Yellow and green grass covers this small yard. To the north, a small copse of
trees blocks the way. Near the cabin are a few shrubs, badly in need of
water.
A broken old chair lies in a heap in the middle of the yard, next to a rusted
hoe. The half-buried skull of a small animal lies near the path. The
overgrown
path leads into the cabin to the east, or back south.

Outside the Western Gate of Lugard
The towering gates of the city of Lugard loom overhead to the east. The
dirt road leading away from the gates is hard-packed and well travelled.
Ruts have formed in places, due to the passage of many wagons and
carriages. Spreading out to the west are the rolling hills of Murandy,
covered by grassy fields and pine forest. The road continues on to the
west, towards the River Manetherendrelle, and beyond that the Damona
Mountains and Altara, but it becomes lost from view in the rolling hills.

The traffic slows down considerably as the road approaches the west side of
the Center Square. Wagons crowd the road and the throngs of people mill

of wagons, laughter, and the buzz of numerous voices create quite a din.

The Center Square serves as a hub for the rest of the city. All sections of
the city can be reached by the square, from which roads leave in all

each day. A banner stands here showing the layout of the city. You can
watch people leave and enter the gates from here.

A Dusty Road Through Four Kings
Though perhaps a slightly disreputable part of town, the road still sees
plenty of use here, running towards Caemlyn to the east and into the
heart of Four Kings to the west. A fanciful facade rises above the north
side of the road, proclaimed as the Lord's Companion, the meaning of
which is displayed by the women who call from the upstairs windows at all
hours of the day.

The gaudy buildings of Four Kings quickly surround the Caemlyn Road as

crowded with wagons, packed so tightly that there is barely enough room
for a single cart to pass by, let alone allow two way traffic. Even from
here the sounds of staged mirth are audible from the taverns.

Here the road makes a gentle bend to the west and south, moving smoothly
between the various natural obstacles in the region. The amount of traffic on
this road is somewhat obvious, either by the occasional passing cart or the
deep wagon ruts that they leave behind. Low bushes border the road on each
side, blocking the view of the farms and landscape beyond.

hills. Weary travelers are often seen plodding here along on their journeys
