Merchant Ylsa had hastily acquired a beautiful Tairen run, that however happened to belong to Lord Duberman and not be officially for sale. Defender Kenob dutifully defends the property and this log shows their solution of the situation with a replacement.

Point of view: Ylsa
Main characters: Kenob
Main Character: Ylsa

....................
Tear Central Square
Directly facing the Stone, drooping and elegant rows of laurel trees at the
edges mark the boundary of this square, which has wide redbrick paths
leading to a permanently-flowing fountain in the center. A white marble
building to the east has its door open, with a sign engraved above the
door. To the north and west, passers-by wander by the square. A large
banner hung at the edge of the square depicts a map of the city.

The waters of a blue-veined marble fountain pour forth here.
An oil lamp, set in a steel cage, hangs from a high wooden pole.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
Kenob is a REAL stoner now is standing here, riding a bloodstock stallion.
A Defender of the Stone maintains peace in the city.
A Defender of the Stone maintains peace in the city.
An Illianer steed stands here proudly, its black mane glistening, being ridden by you.
A Tairen bloodstock stallion stands here, tail swaying with the breeze.
A Tairen bloodstock stallion stands here, tail swaying with the breeze.
A Tairen bloodstock stallion stands here, tail swaying with the breeze.
The Tear town crier stands here, spreading the news.
A draft horse is here.
A Hand of the Light watches for Darkfriends.
An Illuminator's assistant stands here carrying some colored tubes.

Kenob says 'ahah! the thief returns!!'

You say 'Not a thief, sir!'

Kenob says 'what have you to say for yourself??'

You say 'A merchant, who bought a rug in good faith.'

A Defender of the Stone leaves north.
Kenob looks around slowly, as if something is hidden in the room.

You say 'A servant sold it to me for twenty gold crowns, claiming it was no longer needed.'

You say 'Perhaps you should ask the servant, why does he sell his Lord's property'

You mutter in disgust.

A bloodstock stallion pricks its ears forward and looks alert.

You ponder life, the universe, and everything.

Kenob says 'well then this servent needs to be apprehended! he is stealing his lord's property, please
lead me to the servant who did this'

Kenob starts following you.

You say 'I will not, I am not a thief catcher. I have an alternative proposition for you.'

A Defender of the Stone leaves north.

Kenob says 'I am listening....'

You say 'While the Tairen rug was already sold, I have come with a beautiful replacement'

You show a rug of Kandori design to Kenob.

A Defender of the Stone has arrived from the north.

Kenob ponders life, the universe, and everything.

You say 'Perhaps his Lordship would be pleased with this design instead? It is of the highest quality'

Kenob says 'while it is not nearly as high quality as a good tairen rug, it may behoove him to have
something exotic from the borderlands'

Kenob says 'if only as a reminder of Tairen superiority'

Kenob says 'very well, I will bring it to him and see what he thinks of it'

You say 'I've heard queen Tenobia has a similar one, but more old fashioned'

You nod in agreement.

You say 'Of course, it always makes a good impression to present pieces from far away lands.'

You give a rug of Kandori design to Kenob.

Kenob says 'if what you say is true, then the servant is the thief and you have gone out of your way
to make reprimands'

Kenob says 'it would go against my honor not to pay you for this service'

Kenob gives you 100 crowns.

Kenob says 'and before you say anything it would not do for the Crown to have a rug worth less than
100 crowns'

You say 'Thank you, Defender. I will pay more attention to whom do I deal with in Tear next time. I
hope the dishonorable servant will be found.'

Ylsa quickly puts the gold in her pouch, clearly not about to complain.

Kenob says 'you are welcome, and it good to see that there are still honerable merchants in the
world'

Kenob says 'please enjoy your stay while in Tear'

You say 'Thank you, Defender.'

Kenob smiles happily.

steady rhythm of the weavers is interrupted only by the cackle of gulls in
the distance, or sometimes the noise of the passers-by in the Maule, back
through the door to the south. A wall-cloth displays opening hours.

Alley by a Wooden Gate
Leading between a narrow house to the west and a weaver's shop to the

deep wagontracks in the mud show that plenty of filled carts travel through
here, possibly on the way to the Tavar, the marketplace in the northeast of
the city. The view down the alley to the south is dominated by the massive
Stone of Tear, rising high above the grey stones of the inner walls.
