That is farthest from the truth and you will find out when I die.
I therefore deduce Aldwyn as either a Shadow or Seanchan..

Aldwyn turns to Firimei, " The game is over SEANCHAN! You have caused enough damage in this town!!"

Callesa quickly picks up his call and adds, " Death to the Seanchan Firimei!"

WIth a stern look, Racquel joins in, " It is time to die."

As the small group pulls Firimei to the noose she yells, " NO!! You are making a mistake! I am no seanchan! I love this town!"

When the trapdoor is pulled a sharp snap, and an abrupt end of movement Firimei is hung.

The town then goes to Firimei's residence to gather the evidence....

There is none.

Racquel wrote:Racquel waited patiently as the last of the sunset disappeared behind the trees. "The Mayor lynched an innocent citizen. Poor innocent Firimei..." The Voice had been chattering incessantly about the Mayor being a darkfriend for most of the afternoon. Racquel had stopped listening to most of it. "Yes, yes... We will end him soon. Perhaps I will become the Mayor."

Racquel waited, hidden in the trees outside of town until the middle of the night when the light was at its darkest. Eventually, he moved stealthily towards the town and headed directly towards the home of the mayor. As Racquel got closer to his victim, the Voice quietened. Pausing outside the door to the house, the Voice started again, "Hurry up. Get it over with... KILLLLL HIIIMMMM!..... Show him the new trick I taught you." The Voice hesitated, "Please?" Racquel nodded as he threw open the door.

Racquel confronted the mayor without hestitation, 'DARKFRIEND!', he hissed. 'DARKFRIEND', echoed the Voice. Racquel seized Saidin and woves flows of air tight around Aldwyn's arms and legs and added a further flow to quiet his attempt at yell. Racquel lifted Aldwyn into the air with the help of Saidin and sneered at him. "I'm the Mayor now, Darkfriend." Racquel paused a moment eyeing Aldwyn up and down, "Let me show you a trick..." "Yessss....", hissed the Voice.

Racquel wove flows of earth and fire this time creating a gateway to the centre of the town. Drawing more of the Power into himself, he tipped Aldwyn upside down and headfirst into the freshly created gateway. "This is the town you have betrayed. This is the town square that you once stood in and swore to defend. That is where you will die." Abruptly, Racquel closed the gateway across Aldwyn's torso slicing him neatly in half. Racquel smirked and the Voice cheered as Aldwyn's lower half crumpled to the floor. Racquel knew that in the town square, Aldwyn's upper half had also crumpled to the ground. "Someone will not enjoy cleaning that up," sneered the Voice. Racquel shrugged, "It's a fitting end for a Darkfriend." Racquel turned on his heel and exited the house into the night.
.
Aldwyn the Town Mayor was sliced in half on Night 8.

The sun rose to a bloody scene.

Callesa walks into the center square transfixed on the partial corpse laying in the center.

Deep slow laughter sounds from behind her.

Callesa takes a deep breath and turns to see Racquel staring at her, flames dancing from his palms.

"The time has come. This town is MINE. ALL MINE! Nobody can take it from me!! NOOOOBBBOOODDDDYYYYY!! ' roars Racquel.

Callesa turns on her heals and attempts to flee, but she cannot outrun the flames reaching out from Racquel.

The flames dance in Racquels eyes as fire consumes Callesa in a giant flash of fire.

" The fire...the fire...here it is again...

We didn't mean to kill them... We didn't want them to die....

It wasn't your fault. The voice... The voice made you do it. It was all his fault!

Creative use of the One Power! Excellent play Racquel. I thought for sure Aldwyn was going to lynch you after Aira died. There were a lot of interesting scenarios going on around that time. The two main winning scenarios on D6 were to lynch Racquel and then Aira if town hasn't won, or to lynch Aira then Racquel, then each of the remaining until town has won. I thought for sure that Racquel had lost when she killed Ashlee instead of Aldwyn, but she managed to talk her way out of every impossible situation, that was beautiful. It was pretty remarkable how you played on their fears about Seanchan, despite the fact that Astolfo and Aira had acted pro-town since the very beginning, whereas you had participated in killing town's leader (Xoco) and were on record as a liar. Misplayed by Aira for sure, but still an impossible turn around to secure that lynch. Too bad Firimei started a lynch on Brocas for some reason (please explain that decision Firimei!), that must've planted the seeds of doubt in Aldwyn and contributed to why he was so willing to go along with an outed mc.

My own game was pretty thrilling. I had a hundred things going on at once and it was a real balancing act trying to figure out which of my people were trustworthy, giving some of them false information and others only partial information to see what they did with it. The night I died I had Joolis protect Astolfo instead of myself because he was so central to all my plans, I was actually surprised that I got taken out so soon, but I did have a few contingency plans in place (they didn't actually amount to anything, however).

My role PM:
You feel a flare of emotion through the bond as Sister BROCAS reads the letter from Tar Valon. It is very clearly distressing news for her. With a flash of irritation she throws the letter to you.

Sister BROCAS,

We are relieved to hear that you have arrived in the Maredo Plains as scheduled. We hope you and XOCO Gaidin are doing well. We have just received further disturbing reports of activity in that area. Some of our Eyes and Ears have reported massive flying lizards, and we would not normally forward on such wild information, however it has come from too many reliable sources to be ignored. Be safe Sister.

In the Light,
Carlia Sedai

Flying Lizards? What is next Angry Trees?! You know that whatever you face you will defend your Aes Sedai as you always do, with you your life.

To be Clear, You are XOCO Gaidin, warder to BROCAS Sedai. Your ultimate goal is to ensure her survival until the end of the game.

Barring that, you win when the Light has prevailed and the Shadow is driven from the land.
I was careful to suggest to everyone that I was the one with a night action, when really it was Brocas who did all the investigating. I had no actions at all.

PMs to Joolis. I completely lied about having investigated him. Total gamble to send him the message, but I felt sure he wasn't a Darkfriend. Based off Joolis' "Investigation" - which was actually him trying to steal from Paj as I found out later, rofl - I cleared Paj as a Darkfriend despite him being at the top of my list.

Joolis,

I have investigated you and am aware that you are servant of the Light. I understand that you may have some special skills that could be of use in cleansing Maredo. We would do well to coordinate our efforts. Who have you currently investigated, and who do you know to be a friend of the Light?

I currently have coordinated a list of 4 Darkfriends, now that the Highest has been slain, and 4 Light friends. If we share information, we will surely find ourselves the victors within the week.

Aye, I could be of assistance, though such help doesn't come free. A man's gotta eat (and drink...)! For a few coins I would be glad to tell you what I know. I have been spending my nights outside, but with this bloody curfew it looks like I will need to find myself somewhere to stay the night (coin needed!). I have followed Pajana already and indeed she is a wisdom. I followed her the second night and it was mostly boring, just buying herbs and such. I also found she likes to booby trap her coin purse with poison powder *cough* *cough* Dirty tricks!

I followed Astolfo the following night and bore witness to the de-headifying of the darkfriend Arkan.

Excellent work, Joolis. I will see that you are rewarded well for your efforts when this is over. For the time being, I have arranged so that all meals and drink at the tavern will be paid for you at my expense, as long as you carry out your arts with the exemplary conduct I expect.

Be wary when following Firimei this evening, if your illness permits it. There are Black Ajah in Maredo, and though I have uncovered the identity of the so-called Aes Sedai, I have not yet found her warder. Evidence against both will be needed before any action can be taken against either. Tread lightly.
Right after the above PM to Joolis began the lynch on Weir that brought out Tolveor, and the situation changed very quickly. I ended up sending Joolis to protect Astolfo as he killed Tolveor.

Astolfo,

Now that I know you are a servant of the Light with Arkan's death, I suggest we work together to cleanse Maredo of the remainder of Darkfriends. I have investigated Weir and have found her to be of the Black Ajah. I do not yet know who her Warder is, and have delayed revealing her as a Darkfriend until I have this information. I currently suspect Paj and Firimei to be Darkfriends, and my most recent investigation has revealed Aira to be sworn to the Seanchan.

I have also determined Rig, Ashlee, and Aldwyn to be friends of the Light. Neither are of much use beyond a lynch vote. I have also confirmed Joolis to be either a friend of the Light or sworn to the Seanchan. I have messaged Joolis to determine this, and will let you know when I receive a response.

If you have any information to share, do so at the earliest opportunity. We must coordinate with each other and other friends of the Light. You are currently in great danger and must be protected each night against the Shadow. Now that you have the confidence of the town with the death of Arkan, I suggest you announce all further lynches and allow the rest of us to work in secrecy.

In the Light,
Xoco

We will work together this day, and see what results the Light will bring us. I will propose lynching Weir, since that is the person you have CONFIRMED to be a Darkfriend. The fruit of this work tell us what the night may yield for us all.

In the Light ,

Astolfo.

Based on the postings of other people, I would suggest investigating Brocas next, I want to see if he is as clean as you say Rig is since Brocas interacts alot with Rig on the board.

Astolfo,

I have thought carefully over the past day and concur with your proposition. I suggest you start a LYNCH against Weir immediately. I believe that if she has a Warder, his identity will soon also be revealed, and if he too is a Darkfriend, he will be dealt with summarily.

Brocas is a friend of the Light, do not waste your time investigating him. Joolis and Paj, too, I now know to be friends of the Light. At present I have developed an extensive network of contacts and work directly with the Mayor in coordinating the efforts against the Shadow.

My primary suspects at present are Firimei and Callesa, I suggest investigating one of the two.

Xoco
Right after this the lynch on Weir started, and I posted:
Xoco sighs at the thought of bloodshed. If Astolfo betrays us with this lynching and Weir is not a Darkfriend, there will dark days ahead of us indeed. I hope by the Light that our trust in him is not misplaced, it seems the whole town has been worked to a frenzy.. LYNCH WEIR
.. which made Astolfo think I was setting him up. What I was actually doing was downplaying my own role and trying to create a slight sense of unease about the lynch so that when Weir flipped Darkfriend people would be even more trusting of Astolfo. Astolfo unvotes and I send the following PMs.

Astolfo,

Despite your lack of cooperation I have stabilized the situation and the LYNCH against WEIR will go ahead as planned. You may not need to fear for your life after all, although there may well be other murderers among the Darkfriends in Maredo, aside from the Black Ajah. If it was my comment that spooked you, as I suspect, know that I am maintaining the secrecy of my identity for the benefit of the cause. I must divert attention away from myself in order to continue my efforts without disruption. I would keep your vote as NO LYNCH for now, and I too will change my vote to NO LYNCH. With any luck, this may cause the Darkfriends to show themselves and also vote NO LYNCH, at which point victory for the Light will be closer than ever.

Although I have managed to make these events work in my favor today, I would encourage you not to be so rash in the future.

"Dear girl, I am affronted that you would have my home ravaged by unkempt hands. What I do and my trade aren't to be for the use of any wanton lass or lad who thinks them selves crusaders. I am disgusted at having a dark friend among our villagers, and am ill to think there are more. I would know publicly who our criminals are and their crimes before I could put my vote on a call to death."

A grimace crosses her face, "I don't feel ready to make a lynch vote yet, I may consider at the end of the day. They are all still my flock till I know who is the wolf other than the suspicions of one girls word."

Pajana pinchs your arm for good measure producing a small yelp. "Still alive."

She ambles off.

Pajana,

You would do well to examine carefully the other message I left you for. I work directly with the Mayor in leading the efforts against the Shadow in Maredo. If you cannot take your mind off your pinching for long enough to realize there are greater forces at work here than "girls" and "suspicions", then you have failed your duty as a Wisdom. Secrecy must be maintained in order to protect our work from the Shadow. I suggest you begin coordinating with those who will rid the evil from this place rather than questioning their abilities, before Weir tears another poor soul limb from limb with the One Power. The Black Ajah will not die by assassins so easily as Arkan did, not with Saidar and Warder. She must be lynched today to prevent further casualities.

Pajana,

The only girl playing games with people's lives is you. You are in a town beset by tragedy and all look to outsiders for leadership and hope. The Mayor himself is forced to hide, and you walk about pinching cheeks. What does that say about your abilities to safekeep your flock, Pajana? Your inaction shows the very qualities that led Maredo to the poor state it is in now.

Xoco

Paj votes No Lynch as expected, but my RP interactions with him make me think he isn't a Darkfriend after all, which makes me trust Joolis more. As it turns out, he *was* a Darkfriend until D3, so my suspicions weren't off base.

In my estimation, Tolveor has just revealed himself to be a Darkfriend. He has not been seen or heard from until today's vote, and this places him under great suspicion. My plan just may be working. I recommend investigating him as soon as possible to confirm or deny his role in Maredo.

You must forgive me speaking so harshly with you in my earlier messages, but it was necessary to drive you to vote against the lynch on Weir and remind you that greater forces are at work here than any one individual. We have no time to delay. My initial worries that Weir's warder may prevent his murder have proven to be vindicated, though not at all in the expected way. Nevertheless, my adjustments to your plans have proven vitally fruitful. Rather than investigate Tolveor, who I believe I have rooted out with my ploy, I suggest you assassinate him immediately. No other candidate among those who voted against the lynch fits. There is no time to waste with investigations while Weir is on the loose to murder whomever she pleases. I fear you may be her first target.

In case of your death, I suggest you order your associates to pass on their services to me. As you have just seen, I have the situation well in hand, and hold the support of the Mayor. Light willing, no such eventualities will need to be used, but we must be prepared for the worst.

"The events immediately following the attempted lynch of Weir the Dreadlord are terrible, to be sure, but do not lose hope. The Dark One's followers have played into our hands, and the Shadow will soon be eliminated from Maredo. Astolfo, as long as he is living, is the public face of our efforts, but if he shall fall in the course of duty, another will take his place. Our leader wields a heron mark blade, and the Wheel turns in our favor. The Light shines brightly in Maredo, and with this next dawn the final Darkfriends will be revealed. Death will surely visit the town again before victory is secured, but hold fast. Do not let your courage fail you."

Astolfo,

To illustrate completely why I believe deadly action must be taken against Tolveor, I present to you the full account of my investigations. If the revealing of Weir as a Darkfriend and my handling of the lynch is not enough to gain your trust and respect, I can provide you with a copy of the letter sent to me by the Mayor, to be published on the occasion of their death—Light willing, such drastic measures will not be needed. I cannot reveal the identity of the Mayor to you at this time, but I am able to forward on any request for a private meeting with them.

Ashlee - investigated night 1: a Lightfriend
Aldwyn - investigated night 1: a Lightfriend
Weir - investigated night 2, found to be in service of Myrrdraal and in possession of a great serpent ring: a Darkfriend; vanished from Maredo following attempted lynch by the town on day 3, cannot die before half-trolloc
Pajana - investigated night 2, found to be a Wisdom: a Lightfriend
Astolfo - investigated night 3, seen committing the murder of Arkan: a Lightfriend
Aira - investigated night 3, found to be in service to the Seanchan: a Lightfriend
Joolis - attempted poisoning by an unknown Darkfriend, likely Weir, on night 2: a Lightfriend
Rig - poisoned on night 1; failed attempt at compulsion by an unknown Darkfriend, likely Weir, to poison Joolis on night 2: a Lightfriend
Brocas - in the Mayor's service against the Shadow: a Lightfriend
Racquel - in the Mayor's service against the Shadow: a Lightfriend
Firimei - unknown, voted LYNCH WEIR, likely a villager: probable Lightfriend
Pial - unknown, voted NO LYNCH against Arkan and Weir, likely a belligerent villager: possible Lightfriend
Callesa - unknown, voted NO LYNCH against Arkan, did not participate in Weir's lynch: suspected Darkfriend
Tolveor - unknown, voted NO LYNCH againt Weir: suspected Darkfriend (likely half-trolloc)
Bubba - deceased, murdered by half-trolloc on night 2: a Lightfriend
Arkan - investigated by Bubba on night 1 or 2, found to be a Darkfriend; deceased, murdered by Astolfo on night 3.
Malika - has not been seen
Orino - has not been seen

If you will provide me with information regarding Bubba's investigations on nights 1 and 2, that will surely help our efforts. If Bubba was investigating Tolveor on night 2, the night he was murdered, even more weight is added to my suspicion that Tolveor is the half-trolloc, rather than Callesa or Pial. Tolveor is the strongest canditate regardless, due to his recent activity (Callesa may after all simply be a reluctant villager, given her general lack of activity and the weakness of evidence supporting her NO LYNCH vote against Arkan) in giving the final NO LYNCH vote against Weir, when I presented the opportunity for the Darkfriends to equalize the tally and save their master—they of course did not take into account that I had the influence of the Mayor.

It is possible, of course, that if both Tolveor and Callesa are Darkfriends, and Callesa is the half-trolloc (and therefore more important), that Tolveor may have willingly exposed himself to the public by voting NO LYNCH, to spare Callesa the suspicion of being a Darkfriend. (Tolveor was also required to act in order to avoid dying from inactivity, so it is possible that that may have been the reason why they chose him.) It is possible that he may not be a Darkfriend at all, but considering no others voted NO LYNCH after or before him in order to save Weir, I do not think this is likely. I do not belive that the Darkfriends would have simply allowed Weir to be lynched, and examining all of those who voted no we can easily narrow down the list, using what we know already.

NO LYNCH - WEIR, PIAL, ASTOLFO, RIG , XOCO, PAJ, TOLVEOR

Weir is a Darkfriend. Pial is unknown, but more likely a Lightfriend than a Darkfriend. Astolfo, Rig, Xoco, and Paj are proven Lightfriends. (The evidence for Paj depends on one of my investigators being directly proven a Lightfriend - I am having this individual investigated tonight in order to be sure.) Tolveor is completely unknown, and as such is the most likely of the 7 to be a Darkfriend.

I mentioned in my earlier message that Weir would still be on the loose. On second thought, this is probably not after all the case. Furthermore, it is now apparent to me that the half-trolloc is the threat, not Weir. The half-trolloc is responsible for the murder of Bubba and the Mayor's daughter, and likely Weir is responsible for the burning of the tavern. I still believe that immediate, deadly action must be taken against Tolveor, my prime suspect for the half-trolloc. Please notify me as soon as you have made your decision, so that I may coordinate other actions to be taken against the Shadow on this night.

As it turned out, Weir was very much still on the loose. ;)

You and Brocas are relaxing in bed after a tiring day of shouting and cursing about darkfriends. Suddenly a man appears in your window and before either of you can move he raises a fist and Brocas falls into a deep sleep.

The man turns and flees as you check to ensure Brocas is still breathing.

The Bond is fine and Brocas is well.

It is late into the night before you decide to relax and sit in the chair next to Brocas.

Your eyes begin to droop when suddenly something is on top of you.

With your arms pinned under the beast you are helpless. It tears at your limbs.

With a sharp pang of agony and a cry of pain the beast rips your arm away from the rest of you. Without pausing its assault the beast puts your arm into its mouth and begins eating.

The beast claws at you with a crazed ferocity.

Ripping you limb from limb seems to be its only pleasure.

Once you are nothing more than a bloodied torsoe screaming for your Aes Sedai, the beast grabs your head.

The last feeling you ever have is your brain exploding from the pressure.

You were killed on Night 4.

You may not communicate with anyone still alive and may not post on the game thread until a winner has been declared.

As you can see from some of my estimations of who was and wasn't a Darkfriend, semi-active people can really confuse things. Rig was a good Darkfriend spy. I hadn't cleared him with an investigation yet so I knew that if I died, Rig would be culprit. No one else knew the fullest extent that I was leading the town, and with my public RP posts deflecting any attention away from me, he was the only real threat to me. He acted sooner than I expected him to and with a lot more force than I expected him to. Carlia told me later that the circumstances that led to me dying rather than fighting them off were nearly impossible. Brocas and I together were apparently almost unkillable. Care to elaborate on that, Carlia?

I didn't knowingly have anything to do with your death xoco. Unless I was implicated somehow and I missed it, I'm not guilty of that one.
