Buggy max engage
o S HP:Critical DP:Full MV:Full > Commanders Quarters
A huge brass bed firmly rests against the far wall while a large banner of fine
silk wrought with gold inlays hangs unfurled above it. Large and multi colored
woolen rugs cover the floor, faded and worn spots hint at their age. The walls
to either side are covered with maps scrawled upon aged parchments and loose
animal hides, the cold grey stone walls barely showing through in various gaps
around the maps. Next to the door sits a grandiose oak desk, finely crafted of
excellent wood and superb craftsmanship, upon it rests a small iron box.
[ obvious exits: E ]
*Iblis* is here, fighting a Ko'bal trolloc.
A black shadow stallion paws the ground here, fiery-red eyes shining with evil.
A Ko'bal trolloc is here, fighting Iblis.
A trolloc is here, exhorting a group of trolloc raiders.

A huge Myrddraal stands here snarling.
Only 5 mobs engaged, the rest just sat there and did nothing..
I dont know of any other city head mobs that have this weird max engage thing that Hkrethh seems to have (I've seen this happen before).
Could this be looked into?

Re: Buggy max engage
Blarg is the same way. And Irondoor. Dodge + max engage coding yolo
Re: Buggy max engage
The weird thing is, this is not working like this if you hit any LS large patty or cityhead I know off.
Also: normally mobs assist and dont get counted to max engage, thats why sometimes with max engage you can get entire camp engaged on you, while sometimes only 2-3 PCs

Re: Buggy max engage
As long as you're in dodge you can do the same thing at Agelmar etc. Also depends on the room I believe. Would have to have an imm look into the engage coding and the rooms!
Re: Buggy max engage
Thats the main thing, I believe this is mainly room-related. There are also some odd-end rooms on dusty which are lower max engage then others
Re: Buggy max engage
Think its been answered a couple times before by imms, max engage is coding so they can't do much.
edit:
Different sides, different perks
Kind regards,

See: http://forums.wotmud.info/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10150 because it's the same answer.
Re: Buggy max engage
Seems odd coding would apply to some of these rooms and not others. What code is needed at these rooms that affect max engage? Delete and recreate that room without the coding? Idk, super counterintuitive.
Re: Buggy max engage
Stupid idea, probably already considered.
What is it that the darkside player in the room wants? Ideally, all of the mobs to assist them. If not, the best mob support that they can get from the room to assist.
We have argued in the past about what are potential reasons leading to minimal assist. Is it the equipment of the dodger, the different types of in room mobs, the number of hands or the number of weapons involved, the room itself. In general, it seems like we don't know.
Let's take the complexity out of the room. For H'kkreth - Make the room no mob so that lower level ko'bal don't wander in. Then, maybe only the elite will assist. Even if you only got two to three to support you you'd be in better shape. Alternatively, set the highest level mob in the room to be the most aggro... Either through the order of the room or mobol something like this I believe is currently in place for Kajin. He is the direct aggressor rather than the assister.
Like I said, stupid idea. Just thought I'd throw it out there!
