I would hope that trump changing his views/stances on a few issues is the direct result of him getting more information on said issues. He was not in the loop before and is now so he is adjusting some of his views. Again I hope that is what has happened. I didnt vote for either of them nor would I of voted for 2nd place in each party. Until our party systems can put people forward people that dont have to play "politics." We are going to keep getting crap. My hope (yes I said hope again) is that this election kicked both parties in the nuts and they will put candidates forward who are worth a damn.

If you haven't seen the cnn interview of warren buffet I recommend it. I respect this person quite a bit and the way he views the election and us moving forward is spot on in my opinion.

Anyway, lets see what he actually does and if we don't agree then protest or scream at the top of our lungs.

This is reaching new levels of crazy. For two days the WH has tried to convince everyone that Comey was fired due to recommendations and failing leadership. Now Trump gives an interview saying that he decided it and it was because the Trump Russia thing is made up. He is still flatly denying any involvement with his campaign and Russia.

The weird thing is, if Trump was competent, all other things being equal, he probably wouldn't have gotten elected. His vapid stupidity, penchant for authoritarianism (actual authoritarianism, not the run of the mill American "he taxed me, he's authoritarian" bullshit), and lack of decorum is essentially what appeals to his ardent supporters*, not that that's how they would ever describe it. If he struck rational people as competent, he'd probably be doing things that take away from the stupidity/lack-of-decorum meter. It's a zero sum equation.

I actually take some level of comfort in that -- I don't think you can have the Trump effect without turning Dr. Doom into Dr. Evil, and the Republicans who have weaponized Trump for the sake of party and platform are maybe learning that now. The only cost is some extensive damage to the office.



*I'm referring to people who refer to themselves as Deplorables or centipedes (which is hilarious because human centipedes are hilarious for other reasons).
