Reading that other thread and the troubles connecting via telnet made me realize that could be a real issue for people wanting to try it. So I wanna post this here to clarify how to fix it:
Our reboot time is at midnight server (US EAS) time, and takes 5 minutes roughly. On Friday night we have a long reboot of about 30 - 35 minutes.
Telnet is disabled in Windows 10 by default. Use this link to enable it

The new connection for the MUD is:
game.wotmud.org
port 2224
Some free clients for MUDs on your main computer include:
Ashavar's Legacy
Mudlet
tintin++
tinyfugue
I also found this link:
http://www.mudconnect.com/resources/Mud ... ients.html but I can't attest to any of those part from Zmud personally.
If any new people have further trouble connecting, or want advice about available clients, just let us know here. There is a large amount of available clients for PC/Laptop, as well as mobile platforms such as Kindle, Android devices, and Iphone/IPad. Suggestions for these can be found online, such as:
Mudrammer (Apple products)
Blowtorch (Android devices)
Both of which are found in their respective stores for free.

Re: Newbies: Connection Tips
Recently figured out that cmud has an issue working through a firewall. I suggest you create an exception in you firewall for cmud and allow the ip adress to be excluded from being scanned by you security program. Ip is 72.52.169.8 for the game.
Re: Newbies: Connection Tips
I used to play this game and I love it, and I am trying to start up again but have been running into tons of problems. I finally got wintin downloaded and running but it needs a #session {name} {host} and {port} and I have tried every way to input game.wotmud.org 2224 and it won't connect. Please help.

In the "gta" - the "background/master" - session picking a name such as "WoTMUD" you ought to be able to do:
to connect to WoTMUD.
Note that I have done that from memory for TinTin++ - of which WinTin++ is a windows-special variant - both available from the official home at: http://tintin.sourceforge.net/download.php - if you want the full functionality of TinTin++ there are some small things that it can do which WinTin++ can't - and you can get those by installing a cygwin sub-system on your 'Doze PC to get a more Unix-like working environment which the TinTin++ code then works in...
It is possible that you are talking about WinTin.NET which forked off years ago as WinTin95 - but there does not appear to be much happening on the site for that at: http://www.wintin.org the last forum post was in 2013 ...!
