Sirano produces four multicolored balls.
Sirano tosses them all at once to Trace.
Sirano says 'There you are, Trace!'
Trace fails to catch all of them, watching as they roll under the bar.

Sirano says 'Perhaps a song, Trace?'
Trace says 'I have a good idea'
Aishling feels like she is watching a WoT version of the 3 Stooges.
Trace says 'Yes'
Sirano looks pleadingly at Trace.
Trace says 'A song!'
Hal says 'A song?!'
Trace says 'An ogier stole my girl, oh oh, an ogier stole my girl.'
Trace says 'She was kind and sweet, then an ogier stole my girl.'
Sirano glares at the Ogier seated to his left.
Trace peers closely at an adventurous Ogier, trying to figure it out.
Trace sings louder, "AN OGIER SITTING IN THE ROOM STOLE MY GIRL, AN OGIER IN THE ROOM STOLE MY GIRL!"
Trace peers closely at an adventurous Ogier, trying to figure it out.
Trace attempts to flex for an adventurous Ogier, but all you can see is flab.
Sirano tugs at his collar, eyeing the Ogier.
Trace says 'Yea, look away.'
Trace says 'Anyway, good song!'
Trace says 'I am so good at singing!'
Hal claps approvingly.

Sirano rises from his seat, continuing to clap for Trace.
Trace burps loudly.
Trace takes a seat at the bar.
Sirano says 'Well, while my brother drinks to forget dear Susan'
Trace keels over and starts coughing, apparently beginning to choke.
Trace says 'We do not mention her name!'
Sirano nods bashfully
Sirano says 'While he drinks to forget she who will not be named'
Trace says 'cheers!'
Sirano says 'Perhaps I will tell you a tale'
Sirano says 'One less cheerful than what my brother has done...'
Hal buys a small keg.
A bartender puts some coins in a small purse.
Sirano clasps his hands before him, his hazel eyes twinkling.
Hal drinks dark beer from a small keg.

Sirano says 'Please, gather round and listen closely'
Sirano says 'I will tell you a tale of a great explorer, perhaps the greatest our world has ever known'
Sirano pauses, his hazel eyes gloomy as they scan the audience.
Trace claps approvingly.
Sirano says 'Yes, I will tell you about Jain Farstrider, an adventurer unequaled'
Sirano twists his long moustache between his fingers, his face stony.
Sirano says 'But this story is not one of adventure, but of loss'
Sirano flourishes his cloak, stepping onto a table in the middle of the room.
Sirano says 'Now Jain Farstrider travelled all over the world, and I am sure I do not need to tell any of you how many adventures he had.'
Sirano scans the crowd, his face forlorn.
Sirano says 'But one story of his is not often told, and it is that story which I will tell you tonight. Please, lean close, and hear the story of Jain Farstrider and his lost love, Nyen White Wing.'
Trace whispers something to an adventurous Ogier.
Sirano 's sadness appears to pass as his angular face breaks out into a broad grin.
Trace glares at an adventurous Ogier.
smile aishling
Sirano smiles at her.
Sirano says 'Now Jain had been travelling for some time among the Sea Folk when he met Nyen,'
Sirano says 'Jain had earned his keep among the ships of the Sea Folk by proving that he could do just as well as they,'
Sirano flourishes his cloak once more, then strikes a pose for the assembled crowd.
Sirano says 'Oh yes, Jain was a man of courage! He welcomed the challenge of working the ships'
Sirano says 'Oh his status was low, beneath a deckhand some say! But he could climb rope ladders like a monkey'
Trace drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Sirano mimes climbing a ladder, emitting howls like a monkey.
wink aishling
Sirano winks suggestively at Aishling.
Aishling blinks her eyes innocently.
Hal drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Sirano says 'And Jain had no fear of heights! His first day aboard, he saw the men and women in climbing among the ship's rigging. He slipped off his boots, and began walking across a single rope!'
Sirano spreads his arms wide and steps foot over foot across the table, as though he was walking a tight rope.
Sirano says 'All of the Sea Folk stopped what they were doing and watched. Who was this shorebound man, they wondered, who would dare walk so high?'
Sirano wobbles as though he was losing his balance, arms pinwheeling.
Sirano says 'He was up so high! What would the Sailmistress say he fell and died?!'
Aishling picks up her wine glass before it gets knocked over.
Trace looks at the musical gleeman.
Sirano leans dangerously close to the edge of the table now, stepping exactly where Aishling's glass had been, arms still flailing.
Sirano says 'But of course, this was Jain Farstrider...'
Sirano stands up perfectly straight, arms stretched out to either side.
Sirano does a neat backflip, landing squarely at the center of the table.
Sirano says 'After that, the Sea Folk took to Jain as if he was one of their own.'
Aishling scoots back.
The River Lady has arrived at the docks.
Sirano says 'But there was one among them that he had eyes for.'
Sirano says 'Nyen White Wing, the beautiful daughter of the Sailsmistress'
Sirano mimes tossing long hair over his shoulder, and bats his eyes for the audience.
Sirano says 'Nyen was young, her nose barely pierced as they say, but her beauty was well known'
Sirano says 'Far and wide they talked of Nyen White Wing's beauty!'
Sirano says 'Yet, she spurned all who wished for her hand, and said she would only be with a man who brought her treasures from the Land of Mad Men'
Hal gasps in astonishment.
Sirano says 'A boast, of course!'
Sirano says 'Who would dare?'
Sirano pauses once more, his grin slipping from his face.
Sirano says 'Now Jain did everything he could to impress Nyen'
Sirano says 'Jain climbed the rigging as well as anyone, he haggled harder at port than even the Cargomaster'
Sirano says 'Jain bought silk in Shara and sold it for Two Rivers Tabac and then sold THAT for three times its weight in gold!'
Sirano lets out a guffaw!
Sirano says 'Nyen slowly began to pay attention to Jain...'
Sirano says 'Oh she saw Jain in the rigging, admired the way he climbed'
Sirano plants his hand on his hips and looks up towards the ceiling, smirking slightly.
Sirano says 'Oh Yes, Nyen White Wing saw Jain haggle with the shorebound, saw him use his wits and his smile to bring riches to the ship.'
Sirano crosses his arms, his smirk stretching into a smile as he eyed the crowd.
Sirano says 'But most of all, Nyen listened to the stories Jain told'
Sirano says 'She heard him tell tales of trollocs and fades, of winters so cold that trees froze and crack, of Blight so hot that fruit turned rotten and exploded, of places Nyen had never even dreamed of!'
Sirano finishes in a rush, his face beaming with excitement now.
Sirano says 'Nyen, more than anything, wanted to explore the world beyond the ship and to see the things Jain had seen and to do see new things with him!'
Trace opens the Woodendoor.
Sirano says 'Nyen and Jain began stealing glances, and then soon after much more than glances,'
Hana has arrived from the north.
A dust-colored gelding has arrived from the north.
A crow has arrived from the north.
Trace closes the Woodendoor.
Trace beams a smile at Hana.
Trace drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Hana explodes with whistles and cheers.
smile hana
Sirano smiles at her.
Trace buys a dented tankard.
A bartender puts some coins in a small purse.
Sirano says 'Han, I am telling the story of Jain Farstrider'
Trace gives a dented tankard to Hana.
Sirano says 'and his Sea Folk love'
Sirano says 'We're just getting to the good part!'
Hana nods in agreement.
Hana says 'tell on, good sir'
Sirano clears his throat, striking a theatrical pose.
Sirano says 'Nyen and Jain began stealing glances, and then soon after much more than glances,'
Trace whispers to himself, 'bloody ogier.'
Trace peers closely at an adventurous Ogier, trying to figure it out.
Sirano says 'Over the course of days they fell in love and over weeks that love made roots so deep and so strong that people on the ship began to believe that this was the Creator's will!'
Sirano hugs himself, smiling broadly, his eyes closed tight.
Sirano 's smiles begins to slip.
Sirano lets out a shuddering sigh.
Sirano drops his arms to his side.
Sirano says 'But, it was not meant to be.'
Sirano says 'You see, Nyen's mother had other plans'
Sirano says 'She knew how beautiful Nyen was, how smart and strong she was, she knew that Nyen would be quite a catch'
Sirano says 'But to end up with a shorebound?'
Sirano makes a disgusted sound, and waves his hand as if getting rid of a bad smell.
Sirano says 'She would have none of it.'
Sirano says 'So Nyen's mother called Jain to her chambers'
Sirano says 'She sat Jain down in a chair, and told him of Nyen's past boasts,'
Sirano adopts a feminine voice and says, 'Only one who has gone to the Island of Mad Men and brought back an artifact will she wed, Jain.'
Sirano says 'Jain went to Nyen that night, and promised her he would go to the Island'
Sirano says 'Nyen begged him to say, promised him that the boast meant nothing!'
Sirano scans the crowd once more, his hazel eyes pleading with them to understand.
Trace drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Sirano says 'Nyen cryed, she pleaded, she screamed, and she demanded, but Jain would not budge'
Hal drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Hal drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Trace pierces a crow's body hard.
A crow is incapacitated and will slowly die, if not aided.
Sirano puffs out his chest and speaks in a ringing baritone, 'No one will call you a liar, Nyen, nor will they call me a coward. I am not afraid of this island, I will return in three months time, and we will be wed.'
Trace pierces a crow's left leg into bloody fragments!
A crow is dead! R.I.P.
Sirano's blood freezes as you hear a crow's death cry.
A crow stops following Hana.
Trace gets the corpse of a crow.
Sirano says 'And so Jain left, taking a small boat alone into the unforgiving seas.'
Sirano shades his eyes with his hands, looking at something far off.
Trace puts the corpse of a crow in a long wooden table.
Sirano says 'Nyen watched him from the decks, tears streaming down her eyes.'
Sirano stands on tip toe now, hand still shading his eyes as he watches the horizon.
Sirano says 'Nyen watched until Jain was no more than a speck, and until he was nothing...'
Sirano drops his arms and slumps his shoulders.
Sirano says 'Time passed. Each new day Nyen searched the horizons, waiting for Jain to return.'
Sirano says 'Each day she saw nothing.'
Sirano slumps his shoulders even further.
Sirano says 'After the first month, Nyen's mother began talking about the available men on the boat'
Sirano says 'After the second month, more and more men began appearing at dinner each night'
Sirano says 'Nyen never gave up her vigil, and ignored her mother's attempts to set her up with new men'
Sirano studies the room once more, his hazel eyes twinkling.
Sirano says 'Now Jain had many adventures in this time, and who can say for sure if he ever made it to the island,'
Sirano says 'But we do know that he did not make it back to the ship by the third month'
Sirano turns in a slow circle, his face turning mournful once more.
Sirano says 'We know that he did not make it back for more than one year'
Sirano pauses, his face a mask of sadness.
Sirano says 'Nyen was heartbroken.'
Sirano sighs a shuddering sigh, his breath catching.
Sirano says 'She thought Jain was dead, killed due to her own foolishness! Had she been so quick to make silly demands, that she had ended up getting her true love killed?'
Trace lets out a loud gasp!
Sirano says 'Nyen's mother grew weary of her moping, she had no sympathy for this girl's lost love!'
Sirano says 'She gave Nyen an ultimatum. She could marry who her mother chose, a good marriage, and perhaps become head of her clan one day,'
Trace drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Sirano says 'Or she could be sent to the worst dingy, where she would scrub the bilges all day until she had remembered herself.'
Sirano pauses once more, his eyes watering.
Sirano says in a barely audible whisper, 'Nyen chose a third option.'
Sirano says 'During a storm, Nyen climbed to the highest point of the ship.'
Sirano says 'With the wind howling, sails flapping, and lightning streaking across the sky,'
Sirano says 'Nyen closed her eyes and spread out her arms,'
Trace peers closely at an adventurous Ogier, trying to figure it out.
Sirano walks to the edge of the table, turning his back to the audience as he did so.
Sirano 's eyes clench tightly closed, his arms spread out to either side.
Sirano says 'And Nyen called out to the storm, 'I love you, Jain Farstrider!''
Sirano says 'And then...'
Sirano says 'And then...'
Sirano draws in a shuddering breath.
Hana says 'and then?!'
Sirano says 'Nyen let go.'
Sirano falls slowly backward off the table, arms spread wide.
Trace whispers something to Hana.
Sirano lands with a tumble, effortlessly rolling into a kneeling position before Aishling.
Trace mutters to himself some more about the Ogier in the room.
Sirano says 'Jain arrived the next day. The storm passed, sky blue, he leapt aboard the deck calling for Nyen.'
Sirano hops to his feet, and begins moving among the crowd excitedly, his face full of joy.
Sirano says 'Nyen, where are you my love?'
Sirano grabs Hana's hand and begins shaking it vigorously.
Sirano says 'Oh I have so much to tell you, Nyen! Nyen! Where are you, Nyen?'
Hal cries on Trace's shoulder.
Sirano says 'But then Jain began to see the faces before him, began to read the looks on their face. He saw their sadness, and he knew'
Trace comforts Hana.
Trace drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Sirano collapses to his knees, distraught sounds rising from his chest.
Sirano says 'Jain knew she was lost! Knew he had taken too long, had been too slow!'
Sirano raises his hands to his face and begins to weep.
Sirano says 'Jain knew that his travels would have a cost, but he never knew it would be one so steep.'
Sirano freezes in his kneeling position, letting a long, slow moment pass.
The River Lady has arrived at the docks.
Sirano slowly rises to his feet, his hazel eyes mournful.
Sirano says 'And that, my friends, is the story of Jain Farstrider and his lost love, Nyen White Wing.'
Sirano bows deeply.
Hal cries on Trace's shoulder.
Hana claps approvingly.
Hal claps approvingly.
Trace stands atop the bar, cheering his brother, 'SIRANO, SIRANO, SIRANO!'
Hal claps through his tears.
Aishling says 'That was so sad'
Trace cheers Sirano on loudly.
Sirano says 'Thank you, friends, for sharing this journey with me.'
Sirano nods at Aishling.
Hal wipes another tear from his cheek.
Sirano says 'It is a very sad tale.'
Aishling pulls out a small cloth and dabs at her eyes.
Sirano says 'Now, Trace and I will be accepting any and all donations!'
Trace is knocked off the bar top as an Ogier moves his drink from under Trace's legs.

Hal drinks dark beer from a small keg.
Hal drinks dark beer from a small keg.
