Emdawe's report from our journey in the Misty Valley ---&RPaward

Post by Aldwyn » Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:33 pm

** This and quite a few to follow our posts from an old clan forum off site. This was an actual IC report from Emdawe about a clan quest we went on.**

**And a note from Santino about the rarity of this event**

Santino:
This is quite rare folks. This may in fact be the only roleplay ever seen from Emdawe. Ever. In all his forms. Enjoy!

I also title this....BLOOD RAIN!

Emdawe's Report:

I woke up from my slumber, clearing the sleep from my eyes, when behold!
Lord Santino tells me a quest is afoot. Not really sure why a quest is a
body part, unless maybe the quest is to find a foot. Done! I have one
fine foot right here, and another sub-standard foot to go with it.

After learning the task was to find a missing caravan, and a possible
ter'angreal along with it, rather than a foot, I tempered my disappointment
and set off to meet Lords Santino and Aldwyn, as well as Caia, in Emond's
Field. The caravan went missing somewhere in a valley full of mist, south
of some volcanos.

A search began! And oh what a search it was. Almost as hard as finding my
feet in the dark. I blame the lesser foot. After a bunch of wandering
around, and seeing and ignoring a rope bridge, we began to get frustrated.

A disgruntled ogier, also frustrated, but for different reasons (probably
having to keep all that hair clean, I mean those eyebrows?) eventually
pointed us back towards that rope bridge.

We crossed the bridge one by one, and ended up in a strange valley. No
mist, though there had been mention that the valley was full of mist only
during the day. We looked around, and found a tree hanging from a rope!

No wait, a rope hanging from a tree. Knowing immediately what to do, I
pulled on the rope, welcoming the falling logs with open arms as they
knocked us down the mountainside.

Climbing back up and across the rope bridge, with a few berating words from
Lord Santino, I found the rumored mist. It wasn't so bad, it even taught
me how to fly. Neglected to teach the landing though. THUMP. After more
looking, I found a chain coming out of the ground, which was great for
poking holes in my boots. There was also a crack in the mountainside,
which I tried to explore. Some black lizards didn't appreciate that. After
taking a hearty beating, I retreated back to the rope bridge.

We ventured as a group back into the valley, and slaughtered the black
lizards where they stood. The mist kind of absorbed their bodies, creating
a lovely shower of blood in the valley. The red against the blue sky was
wonderful. Mmm, blood rain. Santino found a path, covered by thick
underbrush and trees. Using the handy woodcutter's axe I found near the
bridge (wait, where the heck did that come from?!) we cut through the
growth and found a hidden way. It was guarded by a bunch of mercenaries.
We were all a bit bloodied (ahah, ahahahahha, hahahhahahaha, BLOOD
RAAAAAIIIIIN) from our encounters with the fog and the lizards, so we
waited on Theq.

After slaying the mercenaries, we found a hidden manor. Four balances were
placed throughout the manor entrance, all requiring different objects to be
placed in them. Really, how do you design a scale that will only open if
you place a pipe on it? After I valiantly guarded the manor entrance and
the rest went and collected the items, we filled all the scales and made it
through the second set of doors in the manor. Inside, and up some stairs,
was another group of mercenaries led by some deranged old gleeman. I can't
recall the name, but he was a wizard with his daggers. Helped me poke new
holes in my armor, like the ones in my boots. Matching, yay!

Seems not everyone else was as happy about my matching armor as the gleeman
and I were, so we dispatched him and his mercenary posse. Afterwards, we
found the ter'angreal in a room nearby, and left the valley and headed back
