You say 'Wise One Mae, want to join me in the Tremalking Spice for a drink or 2 if you're not too busy?'

Mae says 'I am not busy'

Mae stops resting, and clambers on her feet.

Mae starts following you.

You bow deeply.

Mae is now a member of your group.

o HP:Healthy MV:Full > Tar Valon Bank
This brightly-lit room is covered with cream-colored marble from top to
bottom and well-lit to ensure that villains cannot hide here to thieve from
the citizens of the city. At one end stands a black marble counter, behind
which the banker waits for you to withdraw or deposit some coppers. A small
sign lies behind a teller's booth.
[ obvious exits: E ]
A board hangs on a wall peppered with tales of glory, adventure and history.
A banker counts several coins in a purse.
Mae has arrived from the east.

The Tremalking Splice
The room is dim and filled with pungent tabac smoke. Off in the dark
corners, a group of people can be seen squatting down on the ground.
Only muttering and repeated clattering of dice emanate out from the
corner, otherwise everyone in here seems to keep to themselves. Those
sitting at tables in the center and others at the bar seem intent on
drinking as much as possible.
A small sign hangs from the wall.
[ obvious exits: N ]
A long wooden table offers room for patrons.
A sullen man is hunched over a tankard, sipping his ale.
A bartender serves customers with a greedy smile.
A merchant guard eyes you warily, intent on keeping order.

You sit down.

Mae sits down and rests.

You say 'Wish they had some chairs in this place, but the floor will do fine.'

You grin evilly.

Mae nods in agreement.

Mae says 'I always prefer the floor'

You say 'What can I get you? My treat.'

Mae says 'Tea is fine'

You say 'A Tea for my friend here, Bartender, and a Mug of ale for me please.'

A bartender tells you 'Just yell for me when you need another.'
You now have a cup.
A bartender puts some coins in a small purse.

A bartender puts some coins in a small purse.

You give a cup to Mae.

You sit down and rest your tired bones.

Mae says 'Many thanks, wetlander'

* HP:Healthy MV:Full > emote nods with a smile.
Ok.

You drink the stout ale.

You say 'What news from the east? Been long since you've been over the Spine?'

You say 'East as in Cairhien.'

Mae says 'It has been some years, I do not go there as often as I should like, I busy myself too much here'

You say 'I had what you might call a friend from the Taardad Aiel. He is back in the Waste. He said he got soft in the Wetlands. Are you getting used to our weather?'

You drink the stout ale.

Mae says 'I don't know if I'll ever get used to it'

Mae says 'It is night and day between here and the Three-Fold land'

Mae says 'But softness is as much in the mind as the body and I keep mine sharp'

You nod at her.

You say 'How I became, what I call friends, with this man from the Taardad was I got lost on the western side of the Waste. He saved me from dehydration. I could not take the heat. '

A bartender walks away from the merchandise to take a break.
A guardsman has arrived from the north.

Mae says 'That is lucky for you he took pity. Most would only take lives.'

You say 'I cannot tell you his name for he said he would be shamed with his clan if it got out that he saved a wetlander.'

Mae nods in agreement.

A bartender returns from his break, re-opening the store.

You say 'I invited him to my estate in Arafel up north, but after his eyes bulged in shock he spit on the ground and left it at that. However, we did share drinks a few times afterwards.'

You say 'Tell me, Wise One, do you have a family back home? If that is not too forward.'

You say 'Bartender, meat and cheese please.'

A bartender tells you 'Just yell for me when you need another.'
You now have a mutton shank.
You now have a choice steak.
You now have a chunk of cheese.
A bartender puts some coins in a small purse.

You sit down and rest your tired bones.
You give a choice steak to Mae.
You give a chunk of cheese to Mae.

Mae says 'I was married to my spear until I was called to be a Wise One, my family is my clan and I do not think there will be another that I will have'

* HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > You eat the shank.

You nod at her.

You say 'Garfalel told me about the Maidens and if they become....'

You gasp in astonishment.

You say 'I mean, my friend, told me that is the way of most Aiel Maidens.'

Mae nods in agreement.

You drink the stout ale.

Mae says 'Why would we give up the spear for a husband with sand between the ears? The spear is certainly the better pick'

You say 'As a borderlander, I can almost understand what you're saying. With a daily struggle fighting the Blight and the forces of the Dark One, it can be difficult to wed and raise a family.'

Mae nods in agreement.

A guardsman leaves north.

You say 'Mae, may I call you Mae?'

Mae says 'Of course, someone must raise and bear children. The shadow's numbers don't dwindle like ours do'

Mae nods at you.

You say 'It might be the ale, but I have a confession to tell you that may change your outlook on me.'

Mae looks at you.

Mae blinks her eyes innocently.

Mae says 'Sorry, but I won't marry you'

emote gulps and blinks.
Ok.

Mae chuckles politely.

A guardsman has arrived from the north.

You say 'Well, I was going to tell you something darker, but now you have me considering.'

emote grins.

Mae draws a sharp, red stone dagger from a set of cloth sleeves with a flash of steel.

You say 'Ok, ok.'

Mae grins fiercely.

You say 'I wanted to tell you that I have spilled innocent blood recently. It has pained me and regret it fully. I do not know how to correct my mistake and feel utterly ashamed.'

A bartender locks down the merchandise in his shop and closes up.

You say 'How should I make amends?'

Mae says 'There are few things more grievous than the spilling of innocent blood'

Mae says 'I am no magistrate nor family to the aggrieved, I could not tell you what to do'

You sigh.

You nod in agreement.

You drink the stout ale.

You say 'I suppose I will take my guilt to my grave. The future seems bleak for me.'

A bartender hustles about the room, getting ready for new business.

Mae says 'If we don't find He Who Comes With the Dawn, it will be bleak for all of us'

emote nods in agreement.

You say 'Aye, it appears so.'

Mae says 'I must run, the hour is late and my bed calls to me'

You nod in agreement.

Mae says 'I am sure we will run into one another again'

emote looks gravely in the distance
You say 'It would be my benefit'

You stop resting, and stand up.

You bow deeply.

Mae stops resting, and clambers on her feet.

Mae nods in agreement.

You drink the stout ale.

Mae says 'Water and shade, Wetlander. Be well.'

You say 'And you, Wise One Mae'
